Old Weller W-TCP-L retrofit
I replaced the old straight style barrel and heater on an old 1970's Weller Model W-TCP-L iron. Threading the new BA60 barrel to new TC208 was a little tight. I used a little oil and wrapped a rag around the collar nut to prevent splitting or marring by plier jaws. Hard to say if the BA60 Thread was responsible or the TC208 thread. I then removed the collar nut and cleaned some very minor shavings. The Collar nut can now easily be removed and tightened by hand for changing alloy tips.

Did its job
Ordered a new Weller EC234 Heater Element for my old soldering station. The original barrel nut assembly does not work with the new heater so this was necessary. About $36 for the 2 parts, so not cheap but now my soldering station works. So if you need it, you need it.

Worked for me
The tip on my PES51 was starting to go, so I bought some new tips. Turns out my my existing tip was on so long that it was fused to the barrel. In my efforts to remove the existing tip, I tweaked the barrel opening such that the new tip fell right through. Time for a new barrel. I bought this one and it held the new tip just fine. Everything is now working again.

Works with my WES51 station and PES51 tip
I don't know if my previous barrel nut assembly was fused to the tip or if it just used to come as one unit. In any case, I needed this along with a new tip. Works fine, if a little expensive for what it is.

Fit like a Glove
This was purchased to replace the same part on my old Weller (fixed cord) soldering iron. My iron is from around the 1970's and was given away by Fluke when they bought a wave of new tools, back I used to work there. I'm glad Weller still make parts for it... better to spend ~$10 than $70-100 for a whole new solder iron! The dimensions are given on the page and so those matched my part, equals a safe no brainer purchase.

Weller sleeve
Forced to purchase this item because original sleeve will not fit the replacement heater. Deceptive!

Fits my 40 yr old solder station...
Imagine that I could find the exact piece for my old solder station! It's almost brand new again...
