5 Star Cookbook
I saw Paula on Fox & Friends in September 2019 when she was invited to promote her new book and baked some items. I love that there is a color photo for each recipe and most use staple ingredients. I’ve tried about 15 of the recipes in since I bought the book and my family has loved every one of them. Recipes are easy to follow and don’t take too long to prepare. I loved this cookbook so much, I ordered her Cut the Fat cookbook about a week later, that I also love.

Another hit!
Her cookbooks are great for people who really cook, and like to eat what they cook! One of our new favorites is the recipe for Cranberry Orange Muffins - have made this recipe every week, and sometimes double it just for sharing! - Everything i have cooked from this book has been delicious! - I don't care anything about her personal insights or life story, but her recipes are terrific.

Great Gift!
As Dean herself has explained, this is her 19th cookbook but her FIRST all-baking cookbook. Also, each recipe has a photograph of the finished 'bake'. Recipes range from those requiring some expertise with dough-making to the very simple. Really a great gift, especially for young mothers with kids who like to help in the kitchen.

One of Paula's very best cookbooks, recipes from A-Z in baking with easy color photo format
REVIEW – PAULA DEEN’S SOUTHERN BAKING (2019)Of all the cookbooks authored by Paula Deen, coming up on twenty now, she has only devoted two to baking. Her fourth book (2006), The Lady And Sons: Just Desserts contained 127 recipes in 180 pages. Southern Baking is far more lavish in its use of color photos (Just Desserts was just text) and runs 125 recipes in 256 pages.Rather than break down chapters by types of baked goods, Southern Baking’s categories run around seasonal events. The titles and number of recipes within each chapter follow: Breakfast Treats (23 recipes); Cast Iron Comfort (16 recipes); Dinnertime Bakes (12 recipes); Pot Luck Perfect (31 recipes); Family Celebrations (10 recipes); Harvest Favorites (20 recipes); Holiday Classics (13 recipes). As can be seen, the greatest number of recipes falls within the “casserole” Pot Luck category. Holiday Classics brings back many repeats of recipes in former Deen books, but for the most part the recipes here are either re-workings of classics, or brand new.The format is her new one with color photos of the finished dish on the page opposite the recipe. There are also marvelous photos of Ms. Deen and her family. Those recipes I have tried and loved include: Coconut Sweet Rolls, Classic Buttermilk Biscuits, Cherry Apricot Walnut Bread, Cheddar/Jalapeno/Bacon Scones, Herb Roasted Garlic Bread (superb!), Bacon and Cheddar Pull Apart Bread, Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars, Classic Angel Food Cake, Eggnog Bundt Cake, Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake, Strawberry Swirl Pound Cake, Bourbon Pecan Pie, Deep Dish Apple Pear Pie.Just about every form of baked product is covered and in spades. There are recipes for: breads, biscuits, muffins, rolls, doughnuts, bars and brownies, cakes of all kinds (Bundt, tube, one layer, multi-layer, sheet), cheesecakes, cobblers and crisps, cookies, cupcakes, pastries, trifles, pies, tarts, puddings. This is one of her very best cookbooks, ranking for me in the top five, and a great introduction for the home cook, either new or seasoned, to southern baking cuisine.

Recipes aren't great
I gave it a two star because the presentation and directions are excellent. I gave it to my daughter and she has tried several of the recipes and unfortunately didn't like any of them. They turned out exactly as the picture but the taste was way off. Her whole family had the same opinion.
