A close proximity lightning strike produced a surge that knocked out a portion of one of the original converters. The affected receiver would work on only a fraction of the DirecTv channels. The price was so good that I ordered the pair rather than just one. It worked perfectly since the only difference from the original was the serial number. I now have a spare, so I'm ready for the next thunderstorm. The order was received in just a few days - faster than expected - and I would definitely order from the same dealer again.

I had one of the two converters on my DirecTV DVR go bad and getting a replacement from them was not reasonably priced. Not to mention that I'd have to wait about a week for it to get to me and in the mean time I would not have been able to access some of the HD channels. I decided to check in the Amazon site and found that they were available, at a much, much cheaper price and since I have Prime, they would be in my hands in 2 days. The converter worked perfectly and I now have a spare. I'm glad I checked on Amazon.

We recently upgraded our standard directv dvr in our bedroom to an HD DVR from Directv. We have an HD DVR in our living room so we knew we needed these to work with HD. Directv kept trying to schedule an installer to bring these and "install" our new HD DVR. I told them I knew how to plug it in and I wasn't going to take half a day off work to wait for the installer. They never offered to mail these to me. I finally told them I was better off buying these from Amazon and installing myself than losing a half day of work.

They do not work at all. I thought this would fix or improve my receiver but they did not work at all. It actually made it totally unable to receive a signal.

I have several DirectTV receivers. One of the older HD ones had pretty much quite working. Frankly I did not want to deal with DirecTV service, I like the service, but talking to a human is "next to impossible" so for the past year I just didn't use it. Then I ran across these and could not believe the price for two of them. I ordered, put on and now the system is perfect. These have got to be one of the great deals around for DirectTV subscribers.
