This book from Ramesh Gulati gives you what it offers. You will find explained in a straightforward way the tools and methods you can implement to improve your maintenance and reliability management. You can find very strident and grandiloquent texts that does not worth to invest in them. This is not the case of Mr Gulati's book.Also, this is a book recommended to help you with the understanding of Pillars 2 and 3 of the SMRP BOK on maintenance and reliability.

A necessity for anyone in Reliability

Still reading the book but so far it is providing a very understandable and common sense approach to improving maintenance performance.

This is a great book for anyone who wants to understand how to improve your equipments reliability and help your company drive down the cost of operating. This edition follows up on Ramesh's first edition with added items on Change Management and testing at the end of each chapter for you to verify you understand the material. Getting to a Reliable State in your Plant is hard continuous work that is necessary to be competitive in today's industry. This material applies to any industry and Ramesh does a great job of explaining the sections in easy to understand language that makes sense. This book is for everyone in industry from Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Maintenance, Production and Senior Managment.

I've read a number of books on Maintenance Management and all have their strengths and weaknesses. This book is by far the best on the topic. The authors did a good job of making the subject matter light and interesting. The content is delivered in an easily understandable manner, but still very practical. Many books fall into the too-managerial trap and start just number-crunching. This book is useful for all who are wanting a broad knowledge of the topic. If your looking for a book that covers the wide perspective on Maintenance Management, in just the right depth (without too many sluggish graphs and numbers) you've found it.

I'm the Senior Advisor of service and asset management implementations for IFS North America. I've often thought about writing a maintenance primer to help with my implementations that isn't as engineer oriented as the RCM books. But upon reading Mr. Gulati's book I don't need to anymore. It's a perfect guide for setting up a maintenance program and I have and will continue to recommend it to my customers and colleagues.

I'm only about a third of the way through th iij s book but wow!. This is by far the best book on the subject I've ever read. The author is, thankfully, ageless.
