Tierra Garden Mesh Garden Sieve, Fine Galvanized Screen for Efficient Soil Sifting and Planting Preparation, 13.8” x 13.8” x 5” (Dual Screen)

I have used this to sieve rocks from dirt for my garden beds. It worked well for my use. But since this has a fixed sieve vs the other ones with multiple (replaceable) sieves, which I later found are more versatile if you need to sieve different grade stuff.

I love, love, love this sifter! For the past 3 years I’ve had a 20 gal. container of soil and rocks needing to be sifted to be able to use. Yesterday I tackled it and it was a breeze to sift out the stones, rub the clumps of clay soil along the galvanized steel mesh without worry that it would bend or break - its very sturdy. Initially I thought it might be too small, but it is actually the perfect size as anything bigger would be harder to handle in both size and weight.

It sifts the dust from dog food but the metal grate move occasionally. Going to have to figure out how to keep it in place.

I rough sift, then fine sift, dirt and compost. I use this sieve to fine sift both and also coffee grounds. This has lasted 3 years and has a good volume and grip for fine sifting. I will definitely buy again if and when the first one fails.

It arrived with a side totally cracked. I had a huge pile of compost and needed to get it screened quickly it so I taped the crap out of the cracked side & used it. I read the reviews and used zip ties to keep the screen in place. I like the size, depth and having the choice of 2 different screens. I don't anticipate it will last long with the repaired crack.

Gardening. It is a tough job. But when you see the rewards, there's nothing like it. In my yard I have multiple ranges of soil, including compacted soil due to vehicles and other heavy equipment from renovations. From early gardening, 10 to 15 years ago, gravel and sand. What a mess. I found this product, read the reviews and a lot of persons complained of the screen falling out when using. Well mine did but the way to use the product is surround your hand on top and bottom sides and shake back and forth. Of course, don't put too much weight in the sieve although I put 3 large scoops and it worked perfectly. Don't expect to just hold the top of the sieve and not have the bottom fall out when you shake side to side. Hold top and bottom at the same time and you will probably order another one. I LOVE it. I do not go in the garden with out it.

The screener is surprisingly durable given that it is plastic. The screens fit well and we were able to screen several shovels of soil at a time. Overall, a good value.

I bought this for sifting dirt from river rock. It can handle no more than one full shovel full. Any more than this, and the mesh bottom slips out of the two tiny plastic guides that hold it. Kind of a bummer when you’re walking to your dump site with a load of clean rock and the bottom falls out. I’d recommend this for small rocks and light sifting, not for bigger jobs like river rock.

It is nice and strong, good value for money and perfect for sieving the soil
