No more razor burn! But...
The Bump Fighter Razor is a nifty little bit of shaving ingenuity made by Personna. I had tried this to maybe relieve myself of the "without fail" razor burn I get if I so much as look at a razor funny. I'm happy to report that my razor burn problem did in fact disappear with the Bump Fighter but there's a downside to this razor that I can't ignore.I'll start with the pros first. This is a nice, well made, hefty razor. The Bump Fighter is by far and away one of the nicer razors to hold in the hand. It has a nice, heavy weight to it and doesn't feel chintzy in the slightest. It has a rubberized handle, and a glossy black finish which doesn't appear to be going anywhere any time soon. The blades, unlike your Gillette razors, slide on and off a "track" on the razor head. It takes a little force to get it on there; I'm glad it's a tight fit though otherwise the cartridges would just be falling right off. Keep that in mind when going to use this razor; the head won't "click" into the cartridges like the majority of the market. The Bump Fighter cartridges are some sort of hybrid between a DE (Double Edge) safety razor and a standard cartridge razor. There's only one blade, but it sits at a less aggressive angle and has a guard to prevent hair from being cut below the skin line. In fact, I believe it cuts it slightly above so there is zero risk of ingrown hairs. The blades do a great job at this. The shave I found, while yes not as close as my straight razor by any margin, or even the Gillette Sensor Excel I used for a while, is certainly close enough from a social standpoint. You won't get dinged for shaving with this for a job that requires you to be clean shaven or for an interview. The downside for me is that the cartridges get clogged up way too easily. I mean WAY too easily. Maybe it's because I don't shave on a regular schedule. Sometimes I wait a couple days due to laziness or being forgetful, but when I do wait and go to shave, the hairs all get stuck underneath the blade. This then becomes less of a shave and more dragging a wire brush across my face which feels awful. I would imagine my experience with this would be better if I shaved more regularly so that my facial hairs weren't as long. Even so, other razors at least rinse out well if they get clogged this one doesn't. I actually took a compressed air canister to get the hairs out; this is how lodged in there they get. There must be some happy middle ground I just don't think I will find it with my lifestyle. If you have a consistent shaving schedule and are looking for a razor burn solution and can tolerate a bit less close of a shave, this product is for you. If you tend to wait a while and shave somewhat inconsistently like me, I would avoid this. The clogging will drive you nuts way more than any of the benefits. I'm convinced it's a good razor, it's just not for me. I might visit it again someday and try shaving every other day for a bit and see what happens.

Exactly what we were looking for!
These are no longer available in stores so when we saw them on Amazon we jumped on them! Very happy with purchase.

Nice Handle for Trac II style blades.
Like several other reviewers I was looking for a handle for "Personna Twin Pivot Plus 100". Personna Twin Pivot Plus 100 (replaces Auto Plus) Altra Razors I deducted one star for the miss leading description that stated "Pivoting head adjusts to the contours of your skin". If you are after a ATRA style pivoting handle this isn't for you. It is still a great handle with a nice weight and rubber exterior that provides better gripping in the shower where I use it. The handle slides onto the carts snug but holds them firmly in place while shaving. The handle is plastic with a metal connector for the cartridge, there are two small holes on the back that will allow water to exit when flushing through the front of the blades for cleaning. It did seem to clog a little quicker and require more rinses than the SensorExcel I was using but yielded a very nice shave with the Personna carts. If you are looking to get away from the high cost of brand name cartridges with out going to safety blades this handle with the Personna carts is a great combo. For the price of 10 SensorExcel carts I was able to get this handle and 100 carts.

Does exactly what it promises at an unbeatable price point!
I suffer from razor burns and ingrown hairs on my neck. These can be minimized by shaving with the grain but only to a certain degree as my hair grows in weird directions next to each other and some of it is curly and some is not.The Bump Fighter razor single guarded blade won't give you the closest shave ever - but that's the point of the exercise! By giving you a really mild shave with a tiny bit of stubble the irritation and ingrown hairs are minimized. In fact if you get heaps of razor bumps the closeness of this shave without any nicks and cuts will likely be better in the long run than a razor turning your skin into rocky road.If you're like me with combination skin/beard I suggest you get this razor along with Personna Twin Pivot Blades which slides nicely onto the Bump Fighter handle (http://www.amazon.com/Personna-Pivot-replaces-Altra-Razors/dp/B00954O15C/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1422440220&sr=8-10&keywords=personna+razor+blades). Use the Bump Fighter blade on your sensitive parts and the Personna blade on your not so prickly skin for a closer shave there. (I use the Personna blades to shave my cheeks in 3 directions - (with, across, against grain) chin and upper lip in 2 (with & across grain) and the bump fighter blade in 1 direction with the grain on my neck - get two handles if you don't want to fiddle with blades mid shave)
