Exactly As Described
I am not a "professional" . I just like to play and sing along with my family and I wanted something within my vocal range (I have a soprano uk) without having to learn new cords. (I tried to retune the strings that came with the baritone which, anyone else would know, didn't work.) The strings are "settling in" and, for my limited experience, appear to work as advertised. It is a very different sound. Tunning: remember to switch your tuner to chromatic.

They are good strings
They are strings and they play well.

Good strings at a great cost
I broke the A string tuning it up, which came with my recently purchased baritone ukelele. The replacement string from Aquila stays in tune much better, and was easy to tune.

Interesting variant
Update: August, 2016.These strings are still on the Kala baritone uke, and they still sound great after many hours of playing. I am sorry to read that some people got mixed up string sets.Original review. I bought these for my old Arthur Godfrey Vega baritone, which has a short neck and small body. I thought I would put novelty strings on a novelty uke. However, my Kala solid acacia baritone needed new strings first, so on they went. They sound great. I get the wonderful tone and playability of the Kala with some tenor uke sound. As is always true of Aquila strings, these strings are stretching slowly. After about three hours of playing over several days, the first string still flattens quickly. I tuned them up cautiously when I first put them on. That may help prevent breaking a string. Along the way I found that with these strings the uke can be played as low as DGBE, and it sounds very good with FA#DG (one whole step flat from the specified GCEA). For those of us who play solo instrumentals and do not have to worry about what key we are in, that may be the natural sweet spot for these strings. Some of us have noticed that the Aquila strings squeak a lot, that we have to pluck or strum very carefully. I have not noticed that at all on the baritone uke. Generally, the intonation on the Kala baritone has been exceptionally good. With these strings tuned open, I flat the second string a tiny bit to keep it from going too sharp when I play up the neck.I am still looking for the right DGBE strings for the Kala baritone. The D string of the Aquila DGBE was too boomy. Martins sounded great, but the wound G string wore out and began to fray (twice!) within a few playing hours. The high G of this GCEA set gets around the boominess issue, but ultimately I want a proper baritone, different from my tenors. When I pick it up and I play that old thing . . .That's the joy that life with music brings.

No complaints!
I used these as replacement strings on a long-necked tenor (baritone) ukulele that I wanted to tune to GCEA. No complaints!

When my baritone ukulele becomes a bigger tenor.
The media could not be loaded. Months ago I bought a baritone ukulele to try some differences from the GCEA ukuleles I have played. The same form of chords with different names confused me so much and later its 3rd string was broken twice for no apparent reason. I have also known that it can be restrained with the GCEA strings so it will become a bigger or super tenor ukulele and then it’s time to try that. The result is not bad, however, I can hardly say it’s better than a normal tenor ukulele. Try it yourself if you don’t think it's a waste of time and money.

Works great, sounds great
These strings sound great on my Makala baritone ukulele. I was concerned by the reviews that the strings would break. While installing the strings, I think I found why people are breaking strings during installation. When installing strings, I found it was too easy to tune the string to the wrong octave. All of these strings are meant to use the 4th octave. I was using my clamp-on guitar/ukulele tuner but found it would tune to the 3rd, 4th, or 5th octave without informing me which octave. When I realized my tuner would mislead to the wrong octave, I stopped using my tuner and switched to an online tuner that shows the octave. While using the online tuner, I found tuning past the 4th octave was easy to do without realizing. If I would have kept going, I would have broke the string before getting to the 5th octave.Overall, I am very happy with these stings. If you install the strings to the 4th octave (not 5th) I believe you will have the same experience.

If they snap, you're probably tuning wrong.
Put these on my Uke. They sound great and don't put so much tension on the instrument that I'm afraid of strings snapping or the bridge lifting. I suspect if you're snapping the top string, you might be tuning incorrectly, so here are a few tips if you're having trouble.1. Replace strings one at a time but don't tune while you're replacing. That means that when you take off the E string and put in the A string, don't try to tune the A string! Just get it tight it enough so that it's not flopping around.2. Don't tune all the way up at once! I did three passes but could probably have gotten away with two. First I tuned to roughly (not exactly) a third below the tuning I'm aiming for(EACF), then to one step, Then I finally tuned to GCEA. You do this so that one string isn't carrying all of the tension but rather it's distributed correctly between all four strings.Hope that helps!
