Stopped the squeal for now . . .
The Dayco belt I had on my Chevy van (5.0/305 vortec) drove me nuts with squealing. The Continental so far is quiet, but we’ll see if that’s still true after a couple thousand miles

I have a 1996 Chevy truck with a 350.
Ive tried Dayco, Gates, Mastercraft and probably 1 or 2 other brands an on this old chevy truck, they either squeak, chatter immediately , when it's damp or within a few months. These Continental belts are the only ones that stay quiet for a few years. Well worth the money and they're price about the same if not lower than other belts.

No longer a Gatorback belt same as Gates
If you want the good old Gatorback belt that were the quietest on 96+ Chevy/GMC Vortec trucks and others it is apparently gone. The current Conti belt is the same made in Mexico belt I took off my truck 4 years ago that Gates manufactures for everybody, except buying it as Gates or AC Delco is cheaper.

Fit my 97 chevy half ton - 5.7L w/ A.C. - VIN R
i bought this to replace my old goodyear gatorback belt with the same part number. 4060960. the other day i was doing an oil change on this truck and realized i hadn't changed the serpentine belt in probably close to 10 years. it isn't my daily driver, it's a work truck/loaner truck so it tends to get neglected. when i inspected the old belt it had cracks etc. i want to say i paid $45 to $50 for that goodyear gatorback belt at the parts store back then. at the time it was the option they said would last the longest. the new belt looks like it's decent quality. hopefully it lasts as long as the old one did.

I had horrible belt squeal
Well I wish I listened to everyone of my buddies sooner - I really learned my lesson when it comes to cheap parts! I had horrible belt squeal. I changed it first with a MasterPro (JUNK!) and also changed the tensioner pulley and idler pulley along with it. Still had HORRIBLE belt squeal which sounded like it came from the alternator. So I bought a WHOLE NEW PERFORMANCE ALTERNATOR still horrible belt squeal (not to upset because its winter and my truck is 14 years old it was due for a new one anyways.) Then I finally went back to this belt spent some decent money on a quality belt. Absolutely not a peep out of my truck now! Lesson learned, I will not buy ChinaStan crap ever again, it ended up costing me 2 pulleys and an alternator all for trying to save 8 bucks... Great Product!

Not as Advertised
You get the Continental OE belt shown in the picture and not the Continental Elite Poly-v that is described in the write-up . Two different belts . But the continental OE belt looks good , fits well and is quiet . It's just not the one i was led to believe that i was buying .

So far best belt I have purchased
I have tried 2 other manufacturers and this belt is the only one so far that makes no noise, I also noticed that this belt was slightly smaller and allowed the tensioner to apply more pressure preventing slipping
