Loved this book. Have heard Rev Black speak in person and his passion for Christ comes across so well in his book too.

The one thing that is promised to each and every one of us, is that we will face hard times, and adversities in this life. However, the life of the believer ought to be molded and shaped according to how we anticipate, encounter, and grow from adviserity. Barry Black does a great job of explaining how a loving Father can be sovereign and omnipotent enough to utilize our deepest pain, loss, and grief, for our good, and His glory! If you change the way you look at adversity, you will welcome it, knowing that you'll be closer to where God wants you to be, on the other side of it! In two words, this book is 'life changing'!

While this was written a few years ago, it is most helpful for this especially challenging time. A must read for anyone needing encouragement. I have given it as a gift to several friends in need of encouragement. And I've read it through at least twice my self. I gain something new with each read.

If you are going through a difficult time in your life and you feel like God has abandoned you, this book will lead you through understanding that He has not left you alone, but rather He is in the center of the storm, right beside you, guiding you to His eternal reward for you. I would highly recommend you use this book along with the Bible to strengthen you during whatever storm you might be facing. As you prayerfully read and study both, you will have a better understanding of the blessings the Lord will provide through your trial.

Cover to cover, chapter by chapter the words in this book truly come alive showing the true blessings of adversity. “When troubles come, look for God’s blessing in your adversity. He is in the business of growing believers who can stand life’s storms.” A great blessing it has been reading the words in this powerful book.
