The Hawk positive drive synchronous belt has a 5 mm pitch, a 5M metric profile, is built by Continental ContiTech, and is suitable for drive applications where shaft synchronization is required, such as food processing equipment, farm machinery, machine tools, and packaging machinery. This universal tooth profile belt is a drop-in replacement belt that fits many standard-sized sprockets and uses standard industry parts numbers. Its molded-rubber compounded construction decreases flex fatigue for longer product life. The Hawk positive drive synchronous belt is constructed of a composite rubber that resists tooth deformity and ratcheting, and it is oil, heat, ozone, and abrasion resistant, making it suitable for use in rugged environments. Synchronous belts (also known as timing belts) have teeth on the underside of the belt that join with the grooves in a rotating pulley to transmit power at a constant speed without slippage. They are made of compounded rubber and are reinforced lengthwise with fiberglass cords for added strength. The belts require minimal re-tensioning and maintenance, no lubrication, and provide quiet operation. Synchronous belts are used in industrial applications such as farm, textile, mining, and printing machinery, and consumer applications such as office equipment, home appliances, and automobiles. As a part of the Continental Corporation, the ContiTech division numbers among the leading suppliers of a host of technical rubber products and is a specialist for plastics technology. ContiTech develops, produces and markets high-tech products and systems for the automotive and industrial markets

Not suitable for Wahoo KICKR if you're doing high power intervals
I bought this belt 6 months ago to replace the original belt on my Wahoo KICKR, which had more than 25,000 virtual miles in it. It's a perfect fit and seemed to be ok for a while, until it suddenly snapped while I was doing a 650W interval standing on the pedals. No need to say that it was not a good experience and I will not be buying a Conti belt again. I'm going to find an original Gates belt instead.

Tough belt so far!
I bought this to repair a Vibraflex German-made fitness machine, which definitely punishes belts. I own a fitness equipment repair company in New York and I'm one of the very few people that repair this machine. So far results have been good. If it holds up I will use this part from now on to repair these machines and if it doesn't I will follow up on this review. The German belts the manufacturer uses last around 2 years with average use but they are very difficult to find locally and quite expensive, since they're imported. My customers love that I can offer this inexpensively.

Worked perfect on my Nordic Track elliptical machine
I used this to replace the broken belt on a Nordic Track elliptical machine. It worked perfect and I am sure it was much cheaper then buying it from Nordic Track.

kicker 2014 belt replacement
after barely 5 month use, belt snapped, ordered new one today, hoping it works better, if not stay away from this product - somewhat disappointing since continental is actually a good name

Used for GNG ebike
On a GNG based ebike, belts are a short-lived consumable item. I bought 4 of these at once, but have only managed to shred one with my GNG kit. The second belt is holding up a lot better than the first as I've developed some throttle control. The consumable nature of the belts is due to the kit design, not the belts.Very happy with their performance so far.
