Who is this King of Glory?: A Critical Study of the Christos-Messiah Tradition

Valuable Read. Hard Read. Vocabulary.
This book absolutely should be read by African Black Americans, though it is, at times, a laborious read. Why do I say this? Kuhn uses such burdensome vocabulary. On one page he may present 4 to 6 words I have not heard before. These are not words that normal people use daily. Often, I can infer the meaning of some words. However, I often had to visit electronic dictionaries and thesaurus. Time consuming.I would suggest creating study groups. I was turned on to this book by Dr. John Henrik Clark. Reading this book is worth the effort. I might read it again in order to grasp everything.

Enlightening read.
Truth. The Christian religion has absolutely butchered the invaluable teachings of the biblical Jesus. Whether he existed as an historical figure at some point around 30 AD is not really that important. What is important is that who ever did come up with the wisdom of the gospels clearly was an enlightened being. Those red words can lead you to the Kingdom of God within --- but only if you, first, empty your cup of all the literal nonsense which Christians keep going back to like a dog to his own vomit."For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."It is shameful that there is so much wisdom in this book and, yet, hardly anyone knows about it even though it was written half a century ago. Instead, what people have heard about are absurd notions such as this world being created 6000 years ago, and talking snakes, and a woman being literally created from a man's rib.

Narcissistic atheist attempting to prove Jesus was a myth!
It's easy to see that Kuhn's ONLY endorsement is his own! This book is written by a narcissistic atheist. Kuhn's refers to anyone who is religious as "average minds", "gullable", "hallucinators", "occult". In the Intro and first chapter he uses big words to confuse us "average minds". Here are just a few; enervation, unctuousness, miltated, cultus, chimera, chicanery, obfuscation, obscurantism, sycophancy, sopiency, inaugurate, envisagement, lugubrious, exegetical, benightedness, aberrancy, stultification, chimerical. If you know all of these words then you're probably an athiest! I can see Kuhn sitting at his desk with a book of synonyms, replacing every adjective with some words that 99% of the population would never have heard n their lives. It's hard to imagine any Godless person spending their whole life trying to prove Jesus was a myth!!!!!

mind delivering achievement
I knew something was askew with religions especially Christianity. However I don't believe the masses of believers are prepared or looking for the sublime truths contained in this great and timely work. Kudos to Khun for his scholarly exegis.

A must read if you think you're a Christian.
Sometimes a difficult slog getting through the language. This author does not write at a newspaper level. However, every thinking Christian should read this book in order to understand what the Biblical stories are and where they came from. Fundamentalists and evangelicals won't like it or read it for that matter. This is for people who are interested in and curious about their faith. Though it doesn't bolster one's literalist view of scripture, it does increase one's sense of spirituality. If you have the time and the interest...it's a great book and a necessary one if you call yourself a Christian.
