Something Out of Nothing: Marie Curie and Radium

An excellent book!
I had once read a biography of Mme Curie in French, when I was studying that language, but it was interesting to read one again. This book should be highly recommended for readers, young or old.The facts that jump out the most were that Curie was very altuistic. She could have become rich for her seminal discovery, but declined to do so. Both she and her beloved husband, Pierre, eventually died of radiation poisoning.Curie had a sister whose given name was Sophia. Her nickname was Zosia. I hadn't known that Zosia is short for Sophie in Polish.

Something Out of Nothing
Something Out of Nothing is the true story of Marie Curie, her relationship with Pierre Curie, and their discovery of radium. This is truly an inspiring book about a wonderfully brave and creative woman. I highly recommend it.

This book is missing page 79!! Page 56 is printed twice. Very annoying. I now have two of these books for my classroom and no page 79. I discovered this after the return window closed and now I am stuck with them. Buyer beware.
