After a lot of research I decided on these bad boys to replace my trusted and much loved Sennheiser 650's which unfortunately died... I recieved my delivery before lunch the next day and was really impressed how well they were packaged, very classy!! I have now been using the ONE-EIGHTIES for a week or so and can not believe how good these are, my 650's were great but in my opinion the ONE-EIGHTIES blow them away with or without vortex drive. Added bonus the noise cancelling is top notch, recent air flight was an uninterrupted pleasure and what's more I can't hear my wife snore whilst watching YouTube at night!!! Happy Days!!! Don't hesitate you won't be disappointed.

A brilliant alternative to overpriced headphones
These headphones are surprisingly good. I bought them mainly for their noise cancelling feature and they are fantastic for that. They also sound damn good too.Firstly it's important to know that having noise cancelling turned on by itself sounds terrible, but having noise cancelling turned on in addition to the 'Vortex Bass Boost" mode makes them sound fantastic. I didn't realise at first that you could have both on (I thought it was one or the other).Initially I thought these weren't going to be very good at all. I had been borrowing a pair of Bose Quietcomfort headphones, but these are almost as good and cost a fraction of the price. (I should mention that I purchased mine for £30 in used condition). An interesting thing about these is headphones is that they don't so much 'cancel' noise as dampen it, but I honestly prefer this because it doesn't create much of a hissing noise like the Bose headphones. It is worth mentioning that having the noise cancelling turned on with no music playing isn't very effective at drowning out noise).I ride an incredibly noisy school with at least 40 (incredibly loud and disruptive) children on it every day to school, and once I wear these headphones with the volume at a comfortable level, it's less like being in a mental asylum and just like sitting in a quiet coffee shop with a few voices in the distance.I'd highly recommend these headphones if you can get them for under £40, as they are brilliant at doing their job and sound great too
