Extra Long Metric Hex Bit Socket Set, 7 Piece 3-10mm 3/8 Drive, CR-V Steel (Hex)

When I went to change the hood struts on my Jeep, I thought it was only a matter of ordering the replacements and turning a wrench. Well this is partially true, if you have the right tool.This set of star sockets were perfect for the job, and inexpensive for the occasional mechanic like myself. Though I consider them to be durable for my needs, possibly a mechanic that uses them more often would have need for a more durable set. For my needs they were just perfect, and got the job I needed to do, done.

Helped having these to take apart the supercharger off of my Jaguar. I did not have any of the long reach type of torx bits or any of the size needed. They fit well did not bend or twist, or strip any fasteners. nice tools

Used these for the injector hold down bolts on a 6.0 Powerstroke. I have an 06, so my bolts required a T45. It worked perfect at normal length for every injector EXCEPT #’s 5&7 on the passenger bank. The bit was actually too long. I ended up taking some measurements, put the bit in a vise, punching the bit portion out of the socket, cutting (I used a Dremel with a cutting wheel) the bit 32mm shorter, and punching the bit back into the socket. After doing this, it works perfect for all injectors. Be aware though, this may change depending on what ratchet you are using. I used a Husky 3/8 ratchet (non flex head) and a Husky 3/8 torque wrench. If your tool has a thicker head, you may need to cut a little more off. With removing 32mm, you have about 1-2mm of space before contacting the injector wires. That being said, you also have a few mm of space between the head of the ratchet and the heat shield that it originally contacted.
