This BladeRunner Intercooler represents the next generation of intercoolers. Designed specifically for the Ford F-150 EcoBoost 3.5 liter engine. BladeRunner intercooler utilizes a 3 inch bar and plate core design that is larger than stock and outflows the OE tube and fin core design by up to 20 percentage while being 95 percentage more efficient. The 3/16 inch TIG-welded end tanks and brackets offer superior strength, and durability. A CNC machined bypass flange allows the intercooler to be used on 2011-2014 models by either incorporating the factory electronic re-circulating valve, or closing the port with the included block-off plate. aFe also addressed the OE intercooler water condensation issue, by incorporating a CNC machined vent tube, which incorporates a brass 1/8 inch NPT breather vent end tanks are constructed out of 3/16 inch TIG-welded aluminum plates that incorporate four multi-directional vanes throughout the intercooler. The use of the bar and plate core design allows for greater airflow and increased heat dissipation over the much smaller tube and fin design used by the OEM. A CNC machined bypass flange allows the intercooler to be used on 2011-2014 models by either incorporating the electronic re-circulating valve, or closing the port with the included block-off plate. The intercooler includes a 1/8 inch NPT brass breather vent, which drains condensation from the intercooler. The port can also be plugged using the included 1/8 inch NPT plug. This intercooler uses dual 2.25 inch billet aluminum inlets and a 3 inch outlet. The Intercooler performed above 95 percentage efficiency, compared to the 88 percentage factory intercooler. While tested on the field at an ambient temperature of 70 Degree Fahrenheit, the BladeRunner cooled outlet flow temperature to 77 Degree. The Intercooler is pressure test rated at 200 PSI. Legal in California only for racing vehicles.
