Tony Steel has had his fair share of trials and hardships, and he is a great example of (as my mother would say) “pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep on keeping on”. This book was an enjoyable and easy read, mixing the story of Tony’s life with reflective questions at the end of each chapter, guiding the reader to search within themselves and then go after their passions regardless of age or circumstances.

I was so blessed when Tony came into my life in 1972, when he taught me to fly so I could be part of The Flying Steeles in Sweden, traveling with Cirkus Scott. Memories I have always cherished. And now thru this wonderful book, a chance to "show him off" as the person who taught me to fly. A permanent fixture on our coffee table. THANKS TONY for my way to short time with you. You will always remain in my heart!

This is by far one of the best books I have read this year. Not only is the story amazing about the true life of Tony Steele but it give practical advise how to be a success in your own life. This book is well worth the money and would make a great gift for anyone.

Just ordered my 2nd copy. Love this book. The steps/goals, inspiration you get is life changing. What a wonderful book of information on the life of a great man as well as a fantastic was of reflection. While I myself am not a performer I do have an aspiring child whose dream is to preform in the same world Tony has . It’s a great read to not only show you what hard work and never giving up can do for you but also a way to show future performers that a lot of hard work and never giving up can really help you achieve your dream. MUST READ for anyone who has a dream .

Must Buy this book. Tony Steele is one of the greats! His story proves we can all rise to fulfill our destiny!

Being a student at the trapeze playground where Tony now lives quietly and humbly, I am so blessed to experience the ray of light that is Author, Paula and main character, Tony Steele on a weekly basis. Until I read From Gazoony to Greatness, I would listen to their stories about themselves and each other in awe at the great things they've accomplished in the years the Lord has given them. But it wasn't until i read Paula's book that I realized the extent of adversity that comes naturally in life at all times and without warning. I latched onto lessons about perseverance, and the desire to move forward for no other reason than the desire to be internally fulfilled and content with ones life. This book is a time capsule into a 'simpler' way of life; away from the luxuries of today, and full of manual labor, grit and passion that just so happens to be the real life story of not only a great performer but a beautiful soul! One cannot expect to only take away flying tips and tricks after reading this book, but can expect to feel a sense of fullness in another's journey; in his struggle, and in his success. He will inspire you with his sound mind and groovy style and even a joke on every other page! After reading this, I have a new found motivation, a kick in the butt, to continue on my journey as a circus performer and as a joyful individual. Endless thanks to Paula for sharing such a story and to Ton, for living it!

I thought the book was great. Nice, easy read which gave insight into a truly legendary character in Tony Steele.I've had the opportunity to meet Tony in person many times over the previous years, and I think this book is the next best thing to hearing some of his incredible stories in person. Tony and Paula do an incredible job of capturing the essence of what it takes to be a legendary character within the circus community.
