Well spoken questions create healthy relationships.
As a life coach who is well attuned to asking questions, find this book with examples of both good and bad questions along with insights into the question asking process very beneficial to my thinking and coaching. I have recommended it to others and actually bought it for a few to make sure they had a copy.

Questions for management
Leading with Questions is a management book about improving your management style by asking more questions and trying to create an organizational culture of asking more questions. I like improving in questioning, yet felt didn't cover that topic very thoroughly. That said, the book probably achieved it's goal as it is obviously targeted to management and giving them enough to become a bit better in their job.The book consists of three parts, (1) The power of questions, (2) Asking questions effectively, and (3) A guide for leaders on when and how to ask powerful questions. The first part is the typical introduction part of the book consisting of they key idea (asking more questions) and the benefits you can get from creating a questioning culture. The second part dives a bit into asking questions in general, why, when, what questions, and how to improve. The third part concludes with questions to be asked in specific contexts such as when managing people, when building teams or when solving problems. All in all, the book was ok. If you are in a management role and want to have a simple book that gives you some tips on improving your management style using questions, then this book might be it. If you are looking for a more thorough book related to using questions (in general), then this book is probably not that. I'm not likely to recommend this book yet it wasn't bad. It did the job.

A rare must-have to read and use
Marquardt’s Leading with Questions is a rare “must have” to read AND use for anyone involved with getting better ideas, solutions and results through others.I recommended it for leaders. I have used it successfully as a VP in a Fortune 250 and as a GM of a 35 person consulting firm. It also has application in non-profits, schools, service organizations and even government agencies. In short, for anywhere where people work, or should work together.I also recommend it for those working on or those who aspire to be leaders. The techniques in this practical evidence-based book hold the opportunity for ANYONE working with or side-by-side others to help bring about better overall results. You need not be an official leader to use this book and help others to enrich team results. Not in the above circumstances personally? Consider giving it as a gift to someone who is. I wish it was part of the curriculum for the college students of the world.Dean S.

Leading with Questions
As a culture, we presume too much to know what the other person is thinking; with the result that we infer too much and ask too little. This is a book that was on a reading list for a critical thinking class i had taken, and it is one of those books that state what we know intuitively. As a basic text in asking pertinent questions for realistic assessment and social interactions, it is a great beginning text and well worth the money spent. The author writes in a straightforward and easily understood manner so that the information is readily accessible to implement after reading the text.

Michael Marquardt has done it again!
In 2006 I was browsing in a (now closed) Borders Bookstore and came across the first edition of ”Leading With Questions” by Michael Marquardt. I only had to peruse a few pages before declaring to myself, “This is a Keeper!” This book changed forever how I lead! And now Michael Marquardt has done it again with this his new edition! This is a "Must Buy" for every leader and aspiring leader wanting to increase their Leadership effectiveness X10!Bob Tiede - Director of Global Operations Leadership Development for Cru

Disappointing
I had great expectations from the book as it was recommended by the author of another book I had liked. Also this topic really interests me. However, I was quite disappointed by the treatment and coverage of the topic. The author seems to gloss over the topic and the author appears to repeat the same points under different topics in different chapters. The author uses quotes from various sources to support his points but there are very few, if any, specific examples of how a particular issue was handled. Like a case study.Overall, I would not recommend the book to a serious reader of the subject.

A great book on how to lead others by questions and more
I want to improve my leadership skill and there are lots of books out there on this topic. Some books of John Maxwell are still considered of the best. However, this book of Michael Marquardt follows another track. He guides the readers on thinking of questions as a great tool to open many doors: gaining expert power, developing influence on others, finding the root causes and solving the problems. This book is the one that I noted down and highlighted the most.
