New Zero and Free Range LV review. Zero= best shoe I have tried so far.
Ive been climbing for 2 years on and off because of university, but decided to take ir seriously now that I finally graduated. Ordered the New Zero and the Free range LV, as a gift to myself. So I'll talk about both. After reading the reviews I decided to go with Soill's recommended size, as I'm a 9 street shoe I went with 10.5 for the Zero's and 12 in the Free Range LV's. The Zero's fit what spot on. My toes are curled in front, but not so much that it hurts my beginner fattish feet. The heel cup it's just perfect for my foot shape. No slipping, the Dark Matter rubber is pure bliss. I just wish they had the same easy opening that the LV's have. On the other hand, once you have them on they feel like a glove, much more secure feeling than the LV's. But they do need a need a little more work to get on. I have used them for bouldering and outdoor climbing at least once a week for a month and they seem to be holding up pretty well. On the LV's I also went with the suggested size, so I ordered size 12 for my 9 street shoe. Beautiful color, Great fit in the front, not so much in the back. Love the easy access, but the shoe leaves some dead space in the bottom of my heel. My toes are curled in front, but the heel seems to slip a little. I figured half a size down from the three sizes up recommended for beginner-intermediate climber should have avoided that, but I failed to notice that the first time I tried them on, and only noticed it the first time I tried them on outside. Because of it I can't send them back. Overall a great shoe, the rubber is too good, but make sure you try them on on at least two sizes to get the right fit.

Great Climbing Shoes!
The aesthetic style of these climbing shoes are what convinced me to buy them. Taking a chance on an unknown name brand that is fairly new is not so reassuring, but after much research and reviews from others, I was convinced to buy them. There are many other great brands of shoes out there, which have been around longer and have proven themselves to be great climbing shoes such as La Sportiva, Evolv, Scarpa, etc, but none of those brands have the same aesthetics and style of these So ILL shoes. The pricing is still a bit on the high side, but it is still competitive with the pricing of the high end shoes of other brands which I've listed, that are around $125-$140. Listening to the fit advice video from SO ILL, going up a size from my street shoes, they fit me perfectly and I was quite surprised with the quality of the material of the shoes. They have excellent grip with the dark matter material on the toe box and the back of the heel. They feel super sticky right out of the box and help with smearing and super small footholds! I have climbed with them for several weeks now, but I will have to see how long they hold up after months of use, but for now I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is on the fence about buying these shoes, but also want to take style into consideration. The style and color of the shoes were just as important to me as the fit and function and these shoes totally nailed it!

Favorite Climbing Shoe
Below is my experience with climbing with these shoes for over a month:(1) The downturned feature of the shoe allows me to focus more power and precision on small footholds with the combination of the stickiness of the soft rubber, which lets me come into more contact with the foothold my toes touch. I'm now able to always trust my foot on little footholds and smear with no hesitation with these shoes.(2) From my experience with aggressive shoes, the toe-box area would normally hurt the knuckles on my toes and have a terrible break-in period of several climbing sessions. The New Zeros were the opposite, my feet slipped into the shoes comfortably like a sock. Additionally, the rubber on the toe-box area was gentle on my toe knuckles and the break-in period was after a single climbing session.(3) In the past, I would rotate around different climbing shoes in a session to adapt to a specific problem. For example, if my La Sportiva(Miuras) were used for small footholds but lacked in heel-hooking/toe-hooking power, I'd switch over to my Mad Rock(Drones) to compensate for that issue. As a result, I would spend more time worrying the quality of the shoe during the climb, rather than focusing on the climbing problem. However, with the New Zero, I've never felt the need to switch to other shoes or even worry about the quality of the shoe. The New Zero is an extremely capable shoe that can handle any climbing problem and is a shoe that I can always rely on

ELITE BOULDERING
The New Zero is a sensitive, elite bouldering shoe. The Dark Matter Rubber is super soft. This shoe is flexible and lets your foot flex and stay agile. This is my main bouldering shoe.SIZING: So iLL shoes are based in US street shoe sizes. So I'm an 8 in Vans / Nike and I wear an 8.5 in the New Zero and Free Range shoes.EXCELLENT.

Soft, Sensitive & Sticky
Just got these and they are softening up nicely and forming to my foot. They are incredibly sticky and perfect for bouldering. I had to go up a half size from my women's street shoe size, but I don't usually like a very tight, aggressive shoe. They do run small!

Extreme low quality shoes , junk
I bought these shoes this year for my 20 year old girl. she used them 3 time for indoor rockclimbing wall , by the third time there was already a hole in one of the shoes where the big toe area is. This is ridiculous, I have never had a pair of shoes that lasted only a few months with minimum use. This is the first time I bought this brand and paid $139 plus tax (this was their sales price). this is an expensive shoe and I expected a better quality. Avoid these brand at all cost, dont waste your money. Seller claims this never happens to his shoes which is a lie, several customers complained of similar problems with this shoes. Seller refuses to replaced or refund shoes. Avoid this seller , not worth the price at all.
