Sturdy, waterproof... best brand I've tried.
I've tried so many brands of shoes! I walk 25-35 miles a week, rain or shine, in the rainy Pacific Northwest these because they're waterproof. (They only soak through if I step in puddles.) I have short, wide feet and high arches. I've never found a brand that's a perfect fit; these are the best I can find for what I need. They're comfortable and sturdy, albeit bit heavy. A note on the sturdiness: if you're a senior, or unsteady on your feet for any other reason, these are the perfect shoes for you. I've tried most of the Merrell styles and for my needs, these are best.

Better than expected
I have flat feet that pronate with a wide forefoot and narrow heel. I avoid closed heel shoes at all costs because they all give me hotspots or cause burning pain. These shoes were comfortable immediately. I wore them to a high school football game to break them in and was surprised that I could tolerate them the entire game. I wore them to lunch and errands the next day just because I enjoyed the stability, support and little extra height. 100% recommend and I'm already planning another Merrell shoe purchase!

I love these shoes!
Merrell shoes are my favorite brand of shoes, and Merrell Moab 2 are the best of the best. I buy them often. This particular pair is especially great because the color is exactly what I wanted to go with my jeans and other casual things. They were comfortable right out of the box with no break-in period, and I wore them all day with no trouble. They provide excellent support for my flat feet. I'm really glad I ordered them.

Really comfortable shoe. I have not been hiking
Really comfortable shoe. I have not been hiking, but have taken walks around my farm and in the house for a couple of weeks. My feet are wide and I have a bunion on my right foot so the width and the rounded toe box fit perfectly. When I find the right Merrill for my foot I'm a happy camper! This shoe is not waterproof, think I might buy the same shoe with GTX.

Well made, comfortable & supportive shoe.
A very supportive, well built shoe. All day comfort walking on concrete floors. A great shoe but the soles lose traction when wet.

Not wide at toe
Needed a wide shoe and although the center is a bit wider then my non-wide Merrel's the toes are exactly the same. A "wide" size should be wide throughout the shoe. I returned.

Surprisingly comfortable from the first time I wore them
I was nervous about spending this much money on shoes without trying them on first but these were very comfortable from the first time I wore them. I've worn them at least once a week since I purchased them and they've been comfortable every time. Hopefully they will also be strong and last a while also. I haven't worn them in snow so I have no idea how warm they are.

Watertight Shoe
I like the interior padding of the tongue and around the back of the shoe. It feels comfy during hour long walks and helps to keep your foot dry if you are walking in wet weather. The sole of this particular Merrell shoe is rubber and the upper part suede for warmth and comfort.

meh
I had moab boots for over 10 years and wore them ALOT especially in winter in the snow. I loved them - they kept my feet dry and with the right socks, warm. I replaced them with these moab hiking shoes this summer. First of all, I had to exchange the first pair with a size larger. Then, the new ones were a bit too wide and my toes weren't as cramped but still too close to the top of the shoe if I leaned into them. I decided to keep them anyway. Walking on morning dew, however, my feet got wet quickly - these shoes are not waterproof! Boo. I wanted to return them but it was past the Amazon return date. I called Merrell three months ago and they had a complicated return process which I just haven't had time to follow.

Excellent Quality, Well Fitting Shoe
Very nice construction and quality. The fit has remained consistent from previous years which makes it easy and reliable to move to newer models as we did here. So far a very high quality product.

This shoe seems to destroy socks.
I was looking forward to a comfortable walking shoe and it was comfortable. However....it chewed up the heels of both of the socks I was wearing. Never has this happened to me before. I have worn the socks for 2 years now without issue...in one day they were garbage. I can’t return the shoes as I have worn them so now they will also have to go into garbage as socks are not cheap.

Excellent shoe but it is not waterproof, as advertized.
Feet were soaked from the first puddle. Here in the rainy NW that makes it nearly useless.

Fit small
Felt okay, seemed well made, but they are sized small, by at least half size. Had to send them back.
