A Beautiful Flieger-Style Watch with a Swiss Movement
This is an excellent watch for a reasonable price. Among other things, I like the Swiss ETA automatic movement; the sapphire crystal; the excellent leather brown-black band; and the large onion crown. Most of all, I love the modified Flieger Type A design! For about $550, this watch can't be beat.Edit: Well, Island Watch certainly beat the price I paid. They had/have it for $397 on super sale. Argh. I still love the watch, though.

Junkers watches a good value
I bought this watch after also owning the less expensive quartz Junkers 150 Jahre cockpit watch. The quartz watch was a favorite, very accurate and with great contrast and readability. About the ONLY thing I didn't like about the quartz watch was the fact that the crystal readily and easily scratched in a cockpit! It's crystal is not replaceable with sapphire crystal. The swiss movement watch is very nice, but it is a little larger and heavier than the quartz watch. Also, the hands on it are a bit thinner and the second hand is also thinner and doesn't stand out quite as well as the white second hand on the quartz. Note that the black faces of the watches are not quite the same. The quartz watch has a slightly shiny finish which I think offers better contrast. The red hand on the quartz watch, for Zulu time, looks nice but actually is not very user friendly and is difficult to set.The only feature of the Swiss movement watch that I actually do not like is the giant diamond shaped crown. It's just bigger than itneeds to be.I LOVE the sapphire crystal on the Swiss movement watch, if it will not scratch that is a very important feature for me.I like the Junkers watches, for the money they look great, keep good time, and the 150 is great in the dark. The JU 52 does not glow in the dark as well as the less expensive 150.After having the JU 52 a few weeks, I can sum it up better:The JU 52 gains about 16 seconds a day, per the "Twist Time" app on ios. It has the well regarded Swiss ETA movement. The 150 Jahre Junkers quartz I have gains about 3 1/2 seconds a day, or less. Very nice accuracy.I have read that the Swiss movements will never get very close to the accuracy of the quartz watches, and owners just have to accept this. I do like an accurate watch, next time I will likely go back to a pilot quartz watch that features a sapphire crystal.June 29th/16 I have put this expensive watch, the automatic movement watch, in a drawer. It gains too much time to be a practical watch. I am not looking for jewelry. The factory should regulate these watches more carefully before shipping them. Losing a star.

Great watch, uncomplicated and simple. The movement is exquisitely functional. Ain't bad looking either.
