Jesus

According to the Bible, Jesus was fully man and fully God. There is no way Jesus could have been fully man and not had the temptation of wanting to be with a woman. But no other movie I have seen of his life depicts this. This movie does not show Jesus following through on any unGodly act with this pure woman who finds him attractive and desires to be his wife. (What was shown was normal for that culture.) I am fine with how they demonstrated Jesus being fully man and find it to be one of the most powerful parts of the movie. Sometimes it is so hard for us to grasp that Jesus understands EVERYTHING we are going through. Everything! Including desires for human love. This part of the movie ministers to all of us, demonstrating to us Jesus' example of putting GOD first in our lives, not any person, regardless of our desires for that person. We do not know every temptation Jesus experienced, but as a human being, we can imagine it and that is what the writers portrayed in this movie. The reason I find this part of the movie to be so powerful, is that it can minister to those contemplating sexual sin and prevent them from following through with their desires by instead, putting Jesus first, and following His example. I highly recommend this movie. After watching this movie for the first time in my 20s, I was brought to my knees, sobbing with tears of remorse for the way I had been living my life. That night, alone, I begged Jesus to forgive me and come into my heart. At that moment, I felt the most incredible weight of my many sins lifted from my shoulders. It was real and it was the most powerful moment in my life. It was that night that I was saved/born again. My hope and my prayer, is that you will purchase this movie, watch it, take it to heart and be changed forever. Although the writers took creative liberties, the movie is beautiful and God-honoring and points the audience to seek Jesus instead of sin. (By the way I am 52 years old now and Jesus is and will always be my Lord and Saviour. No person or preacher got the message of Christ through to me. This movie did.)

I've seen a number of Biblical movies, King of Kings (both), Greatest Story Ever Told etc. I think the best of them all was Jesus of Nazareth, but this movie comes a close second. What I like most about it is what is the one star reviews seem to have been most critical of. The portrayal of Jesus as a real man. Some versions of the story are so fearful of disrespect that they portray Jesus as almost a plaster saint come to life, with no feelings, except piety and love with no real warmth for any individuals because it's all spent on MANKIND, as a giant entity. So, to those critics, don't you think a young man, even if he has a serious mission, would have no interest in humor, in enjoying the company of his friends, of enjoying family celebrations? You think he might just possibly have had love enough for Joseph to be upset at his death? I sure do. That Joseph aspect is what I most like about this movie. Most versions, after the Bethlehem part of the story, hardly bother to mention Joseph again. You think it's possible that Jesus at least considered that maybe a wife might be a good thing for him? I don't see why not. If, according the the scriptures Jesus was sent to earth to experience what men experience, I would hate to think he totally missed out on humor, fun, laughter, and the idea that , while it may not be for everyone, love and marriage can enrich your life. I think the actors, Sisto, Messing, and especially Bisset are terrific in this film and I recommend it highly. Is it 100% accurate? Probably not, but it IS moving and gives you material for thought.

Excellent movie! This was very well presented and on point with the accuracy of the life that Christ led. The movie first came out on NBC back in 2002 at Easter time, and my brother, sister, and I were just glued to the television!! The first thing people would think is that it's boring because it's a "Jesus" film, but this was a very impressive, moving one!!! Very impressive, moving that was beautifully crafted onscreen and on film in a majestic, classy, gripping way that was both deep, meaningful, and still entertaining and fascinating at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved the movie, just loved it, and I am sure you will too!!! Just give it a wonderful try!! The best of any movies about Jesus Christ! The acting was great, superb, and very accurate in showing Jesus life in being tempted, crucified, and the love and mercy he showed to others. His love and forgiveness toward Mary Magalene, Peter, and even Judas, the worst and undeserved of sinners, in the movie shows how God is really loving, compassionate, merciful, and forgiving towards us as human beings. It was very touching. And unlike the Passion, it showed the rest of his life until he went back to heaven after resurrecting from the grave and, trust me, this was WAAAAAY better than "The Passion of the Christ". Please do not pay attention to any negative reviews. Some people just like to complain about what they don't understand and say that "inaccurate" and false things about Jesus Christ was in the movie when it was not. This is worth the buy and the watch, trust me on that, so please give this a chance and don't dismiss it just because a few athiests or disgruntled and unbelieving individuals have. This movie is excellent!!

Je le préfère parce que le personnage sourit, rit, danse et pleure comme tout humain ordinaire. On le voit tantôt dans le doute, tantôt dans la confiance, tantôt dans la peine et dans la détermination. Pas d'air dramatique inutile...A la toute fin, j'aime surtout les dernières images de continuité, lorsque le même personnage, habillé de jean, vient à la rencontre d'un groupe d'enfants.

J'adore ce film que j'ai visionné à plusieurs reprises sans jamais me lasser! Je jeu des acteurs est fascinant et donne une note plus passionnante au scénario du film.

Il dvd è arrivato entro i tempi previsti, la spedizione un pò lenta in quanto ho ordinato il film il 4 Marzo, ma essendo arrivato tramite le poste l'avevo previsto. Il dvd è completamente nuovo, intatto e si vede molto bene nella sua versione integrale in due puntate. Film molto bello che racconta la vita di Gesù in un modo nuovo e con un cast d'eccezione.

One of the best Jesus movies. Arrived promptly

Ich habe diesen Film vor Jahren im ORF gesehen und ihn hier wieder gefunden.Ich bin wirklich sehr begeistert, weil der Bezug für mich zum ganz eigenen, induviduellen Leben im heute und hier gegeben ist.Besonders spannend und aufwühlend finde ich die Szene am Ölberg, wo Jesus mit all seinen Ängsten und Zweifeln eben ganz Mensch ist. Verstärkt wird der Konflikt durch das Erscheinen von Satan, wie er ihm auf moderne Weise zeigt, wie sinnlos die Hingabe von Jesus erscheint ...Jedoch ist es im Leben oft so, dass man die Früchte seiner Liebe oder seines Bemühens nicht unmittelbar ernten kann und man die eigene Verantwortung für sein Handeln letztlich ganz alleine trägt.Ich finde, der Film kann vor allem auch Jugendlichen zeigen, wie man seiner ganz eigenen Bestimmung folgen soll/kann, auch wenn es nicht immer der leichteste und bequemste Weg ist.
