Sweet Blade!
I bought this knife several Months ago, touched up the edge, and have been using it as an EDC knife on the Ranch... Last week, I even used it to butcher an entire deer, it was just getting a little dull at the end of finish cuts for grinding, put it on a Sharps hand sharpener, and finished up. This is a great EDC knife, rugged and durable, and I was also surprised at the quality of the leather sheath, You can't beat it for this price range...I'm buying one for each of my Sons!

Nice balance in the hand
I don't really need a knife of this design, I just thought the curved blade was kind of cool. The blade is not very sharp out of the box. But a couple of hours sharpening it brings it to a nice edge. I didn't really have a problem with the lack of a sharp edge out of the box, many high end, high cost, Japanese chefs knives are sold the same way so the chef who purchases it can put the kind of bevel on the edge he prefers rather than laboring to change the edge put on by the factory craftsmen. The blade sides are kind of rough near the spine, it is after all made from old files. But the the knife balances nicely in the hand, the sheath was quite acceptable to me. I like the handle shape. I still do not know where it is made, no markings on the package stating where it is made that I could find.

There are better knives for the price.
I was pretty unimpressed by this knife compared to similar knives I own in the same price range.Positives: Good looking handle and brass bolster. A well fitted sheath. The handle seems fairly comfortable. The blade shape seems to be a good one.1. The file pattern appears to be stamped on, it's not made of a file.2. The steel is fairly soft even for kitchen knives and older pocket knives.3. The blade is incredibly thick for a small knife, right at 5/32" at the spine and a hair over 1/16" behind the edge making it cut slowly and feel clunky in cuts. I had to thin it out to get it to cut, which took forever.4. Appears to be made of blackened stainless steel. It doesn't tarnish at all. I was expecting some sort of high carbon steel.

Great field knife
I got the knife 3 days sooner than expected. This is definitely not like the cheap Pakistani knives that were so prevalent in the '80's! This is a simple fixed blade knife made from a file. It takes a good edge and holds it for a good long while, and it is perfect for daily farm chores/use. It was inexpensive enough that I don't feel bad putting it through some pretty rough use, cutting vines out of tiller tines etc. and not worrying about screwing up the edge scraping it across metal. The sheath is okay, but whatever goat-leather crap they used leaves something to be desired, hence the 4 stars. I will be buying a couple more of these for backup and gifts! Recommended!

Good knife at a very agreeable price.
This knife is a skinner for me. Weight and feel are excellent. I have large hands, and this handle makes fine work much easier. Out of the box, the blade was not sharp, but was not difficult to sharpen. The point was flattened, like it had been dropped, but that was easily honed out as well. Not prefect out of the box, but an excellent design for working use at a very affordable price.

Buy a better quality knife made in the USA
I noticed a small amount of unevenness on the top part of the handle. Further inspection of the handle material is starting to rust. Another thing about this is knife is that it wasn’t made in the USA...Left Pic #1 showing the top of handle with rust spotsRight Pic #2 showing the bottom of handle with rust spots

Seriously should be ashamed
The craftsmanship is awful. There's parts on the handle where the metal protrudes from the wood, and if your palm were to slip, it could actually cut it. It also comes soaked in grease and smells really bad. The grind on the blade is very inconsistent, also.

Be prepared to put in some serious time on a stone
Fit and finish is nice. Never had a knife arrive this dull. Needed a LOT of attention. That said, it's a nice hard steel, so it should hold up.
