There are lots of other basic and useful words that could be brought up in the book
I bought this book for daughter age 5 since she does French from reception in her school. I know French perfectly, since I lived there. However the book is not so inclusive of all the basic French words. There are lots of other basic and useful words that could be brought up in the book. The pronunciation at the end of the book is actually more of English accent than French accent. French people never pronounce les as lay. If you ignore that the book is just OK not really a brilliant book.

Excellent
We bought this for my cousins who are just starting to learn French. When I looked at it I was very impressed, wish I'd had something like this when I was learning. Great learning tool.

Great teaching tool.
My daughter speaks French, well limited, but still pretty good, and we were trying to find a way to have her teach her twins French. this is the perfect way, as you just sit, for a limited time, and pronounce each work as you would English. Now when they point to their heads, they say tete (I think that is the way you spell it.) I am going to buy more of these for my other grandchildren.

Great picture book for younger children
This French dictionary picture book is perfect for the younger elementary age. I love Stephen Cartwright pictures - always a lot of action on each page. I like that it has the pronunciation of each word in the back of the book. It only has a basic vocabulary - less than 10 words per page and the numbers go only up to 10. If you want something with more vocabulary, I would suggest USBORNES first 1000 words in French.
