Excellent Quality But A Couple of Things You Need to Know
I'm very pleased with this headboard. It's excellent workmanship, good quality wood and very attractive. I had no difficulty in terms of putting it together by myself either (except as noted below) - all the pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly and the pieces all fit together well. I have looked for nearly two years now in local stores to find a nice pine headboard and there is simply nothing out there. Nobody seems to make anything in pine anymore - well, at least pine without pressboard. All that being said, there are a couple of things to know so you won't make the same mistakes I did.First, don't try to compare the look of the screws with the drawing on the instructions. If you use the screw that matches that illustration, you will screw it right through the back side of the leg, which is what I did. I was able to repair the wood, and maybe a more experienced carpenter-type person wouldn't have made the same mistake, but the illustration should match the hardware you need to use. So look at the hardware bag first and match up the right screw for the job. It's readily apparent if you know to make that comparison and ignore the drawing on the instructions.Secondly, you do need a particular type of bedframe to connect to the headboard. You need one with vertical flanges on the end of the side members so it can bolt on. It doesn't say that anywhere and right now my headboard is leaning against the wall because I have a standard bed frame that has no end flanges. So if you buy it, be aware that the typical metal bed frame which is just 4 metal rails and wooden cross members may not be the right one.Had I known of the bed frame issue ahead of time, I would still have purchased this product. The price is reasonable and, as I said, the quality excellent. You can always buy a proper bed frame.

Great Solid Wood Headboard
This is a great value. This head board is solid pine. It is extremely well crafted and easily assembled assuming you have a good frame to attach it to. The headboard attaches to the frame with 4 2 1/2" screws and bolts. Your frame with need have a headboard attachment on it. Unlike most simple bedframes. Get a good frame however I don't recommend the TRUCTURES by Malouf which others have recommended to use with it. See my review of that product to understand why I do not recommend it. But the Hillsdale Headboard is amazingly well built to last. While the design is simple, it its elegant and the wood quality (at least in mine) is flawless. No visible knots of discolorations as can sometimes be common in pine .Again, this is not pressboard, this is made from highly finished sold pine.

Looks great
Needed a headboard for a guest bedroom, which has a chair rail installed. This headboard fit the designated space exactly as needed.

Hillsdale Carolina Headboard, Twin, Country...
Received the headboard today. Was very disappointed with the lack of quality that went into the manufacture of it. To start with, I guess technically it is solid wood furniture. To me, it is partly laminated furniture. One leg, consists of three pieces of wood glued together and this piece of wood is only 1.25" by 1.25". The other leg, same size, is a solid piece. As the color of the wood pieces do not match with each other-it was/is very noticeable. The top of the headboard also consists of different wood pieces that also do not match up. The inside 9 rails were glued into the precut holes. Unfournately, the holes were overfilled with glue. When the rails were inserted into the holes, they pushed the glue out onto the supporting wood. No effort was made to clean the glue up. It stayed there until it dried and then was varnished over. The dried glue does not match either the varnish or the wood. There were several wood knots and lots of small jagged cuts into the wood. I'm guessing the saw blade was dulling when the wood was cut. The small cuts were not sanded out-just filled with varnish. I would have thought that for $119.00, the company would have at least provided nuts and bolts to install the headboard to the frame. Didn't have any in the box. Very Very disappointed with this headboard and it will be returned. For what I received, I would expect something like that to sell for around $15.00 not $119.00. I am happy that other customers received a quality product. I wish I would have been one of them. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this mismatched headboard. Hillsdale should be ashamed of themselves for selling something like this.
