Moon Machu Picchu: Including Cusco & the Inca Trail (Moon Handbooks)

I just came back from Peru 2 days ago! This was the only guide I bought as I did most of my research online but wanted to make sure I had backup information and suggestions for Cusco/Sacred Valley since we were spending a bulk of our 2 week trip in those areas (1 week out of 2). So glad I bought this! We used many of the food suggestions when the places I had looked up online from blogs were closed or something else. It was a great back up and really helped with our trips to places like Pisaq, Ollantaytambo etc. It was really helpful with how to get to places and about how much things *should* cost. It was helpful when walking around Machu City without a guide and helpful when we just were wandering around the cities and needed a reminder of what to do.I did get it on my kindle and I thought the maps were a bit small and sometimes hard to read. That is really my only complaint. Very thorough for these cities but of course you'll need another guide if you are going to Colca Canyon, Arequipa, Puno, or the Jungle or anywhere up north.

Good reference. I could have used sharper, more detailed maps, however.

Good guidebook!

I did research on line before reading this book. The book included each phase of the itinerary down to the last detail which I had not found on line.

The book was very accurate and I was glad I got it before I went.

Nothing helpful in this book. It seems biased for wealthy tourists, with suggestions for hotels and restaurants far from the "real" Peru. We ended up thinking the author visited another country.

A good read for anyone planning on visiting the Sacred Valley, not only what to see and visit but also useful information on getting around
