An excellent book on the Enneagram
This book is a very worthwhile read on the Enneagram and I highly recommend it Will probably reread it along with others on this subject . It is balanced, understandable, and well worth your time to help understand yourself and others.

Excellent, deep, and accessible book about the Enneagram - read this book :)
I was introduced to the Enneagram about 2+ years ago via a team at work and have dipped into two or three books about it since. When Ian Cron and Suzanne Stabile started their podcast I jumped right on it and have been loving it and was very much looking forward to reading the book. I've not been disappointed. This is by far the most accessible book about the Enneagram I have read so far. The narrative style makes the reading easy, but don't be deceived, there is so much depth in these stories. The chapters about each number start with a list of characteristics of that number, and end with a list of ways for that number to get healthier and more integrated. Between these two lists you'll learn about the ways in which each number moves through and sees the world. The stories interwoven throughout the book bring life and dimension to each number and will help those who are trying to discern which number they are.I am a Nine, with a One Wing (I think!) and have already dipped back into that chapter several times. This is a book that you'll want to keep close as you embark on or continue your journey of understanding how you, and the rest of your friends, family, acquaintances and co-workers move through and see this world.

A great book for growing in self-awareness and compassion for others
This is a great introduction to the enneagram, an ancient personality tool that you need to know about. Its different from other tools like the Myers-Briggs and this difference is what make it so helpful and so uncomfortable to study. The enneagram doesn't flatter. It provides more than a description of your strengths. You'll also get insight into the unhealthy side of your personality. You'll gain an understanding of how you operate at your best and your worst, which is why I have a love/hate relationship with the enneagram. Expect to be encouraged as you read. Expect to squirm at times as you read descriptions of the darker aspects of your personality that are so spot on, you'll wonder if someone's crawled inside your head and downloaded a few things. There's a lot of more technical books written on the enneagram but this is probably the most accessible and engaging book on the topic. The writing is excellent and the content is organized in a way that makes the tool easy to understand. The authors write from a Christian perspective but its not heavy handed. I can't imagine someone coming from a different faith or no faith at all feeling "run over" by their perspective. The things we refuse to face in ourselves often have great power over us. Read this book and allow these gracious authors to gently invite you to a greater level of self-awareness that can lead to greater freedom and greater compassion both for yourself and others.

This book has consistently helped me better understand myself and the people around me.
I have purchased at least six copies of this book - it is one of my favorites to share with other people and makes a great gift for someone who is interested in understanding more about themselves and others. It is an easy read, very helpful in finding your type, and has tips at the end for personal as well as spiritual growth!I turn to this book when I am struggling with myself and I feel like I learn something new every time I read it. It focuses more on the “why” of your type than the “what” - meaning that the authors really dig into the underlying factors of WHY we make decisions, rather than just analyzing people by their personalities.Would recommend again and again to anyone!

I Really Tried Hard Not to Buy This Book- I'm so Glad I Bought It
It's true. Because of the price (and being cheap), I tried really hard not to buy it. I'm 5th in line for the kindle book at my library (and I don't love reading digital books). I asked friends if I could borrow it. I tried to avoid the cost. Finally, looking through a friend's (that I couldn't borrow because she was still soaking it up), I KNEW I'd want my own copy. Ugh. So I broke down and bought it AND I'M SO GLAD I DID!!! It's SO good! It's helping me to see the world differently, my family differently, and myself differently. It's changing the conversation in our home, giving me deeper understanding when I interact with others, and great self-awareness. I love Ian's comment in the beginning that this isn't about boxing anyone in... but instead, showing you the box you're ALREADY in, and helping you find a way out.Anyway, if you're trying to NOT spend $20 on a book... just quit now. You probably spend that much on a meal out with a family or a few coffees a week or whatever. And this book will serve you WAY better than most other ways you can use the money. So just do it :) I know I'm glad I did.
