Kilner Mayonnaise and Sauce Jar Set

Finally I'm able to make mayo without getting my other half to help whisk! Such a well thought-out product - makes it so easy. My first attempt came out a little runny, but tastes so good. I recommend adding garlic!

I bought this product because I want to stop buying shop-made mayonnaise because it contains sugar (and I am trying to reduce carbs).It does what it says - but be warned - real mayo is not the same as shop-bought mayo - but certainly good enough for me!

I usually make home made mayo in my food processor but the clean up afterwards puts me off a little (it is a pain to clean all the fiddly bits) so when I saw the Kilner Mayo Maker I knew I NEEDED it. It was deliverd in good time and I had a go with it tonight. I followed the recipe that came with it and it worked very well. Emulsified nicely and good and thick. The jar is a good size for it. Home made mayo keeps for a few days in the fridge so you don't want to make too much at a time. Clean up was very easy and straight forward. It literally took 5 minutes to measure out and make it! I love it so much. It may seem expensive £20 but you will never have to buy mayo again and the decent, shop bought stuff can be pricey, so you will save money in the long run as long as you don't drop and break the glass jar (I would assume that if you did break it you could get a replacement from Kilner easily enough). The only niggle I have is that the recipe that came with it tastes quite rank. I will not use that one again. I will adapt my tried and tested recipe and use that instead. I cannot praise this mayo maker enough!

First batch of mayo was great but mixed results since - need to follow recipe exactly and add the oil very very slowly. When it works it makes much better Mayo than you can buy with cleaner ingredients

Easy to use not like electric blender! Once you get quantities right it’s perfect. I’ve made garlic Mayo, smoky Mayo for BBQ and cinnamon for salads. Very useful sturdy piece of kitchen kit.

There is nothing wrong with the product in principle, except that it takes forever to make the mayonaisse this way, and even then, it's hit and miss - if you don't drip the oil in slowly enough, the mayo will split. As it did with me.Then I looked this up on you tube and of course there is a 21st Century way to make mayo in basically about a minute. Just use a hand whisk. Google it! It works and it will save you a whole load of wasted oil and eggs and it might also save your arms from developing rheumatism from the endless pumping up and down action required with this product.So just to summarise: there is nothing wrong with the product per se, but if you have a hand held electric blender, or even an electric whisk, google how to make mayo in a minute instead.

I absolutely love this jar - it's so easy to use and makes the most delicious mayonnaise. I love it so much I've bought one for a friend too! So much nicer than shop bought. Roll on the summer...
