Using this for a 72 hour kit. Love the duffel bag ability to have easy access to everything. Don’t have to dump everything out to get to the bottom things like in a regular backpack. Love the backpack straps so it can be worn as a backpack. Love the fact that it is completely waterproof. The 50l capacity is perfect. I had tried a 40l and it was too small. This one is heavy when completely full, but not unmanageable.

Clearly the zipper is NOT WATERPROOF. I was really hoping this bag would work due to size and ability to carry it several ways.The first bag was the same, this second bag (ther replacement) is the same. I took several photos and tested the bags.First, the bag would leak air under pressure when I put my hand on it. It leaked where the zipper stopped when zipped up. You could move the zipper around and hear the air hissing at different amounts like it would seal a little tighter and then a little less as more air would leak.Second test was putting the bag in the shower with a light stream of water all over the bag. When water gets near the zipper it will leak into the bag. See the photos and the wet paper towel inside the bag.I also tried adding some waterproof silicone zipper grease to see if that would help, it didn't.This bag would work if the ground was wet or if the bottom was sitting on wet area. Most waterproof zippers in other gear I have or have seen has a rubber stopper where the zipper ends, allowing the zipper to make a sealed connection. I took a photo for reference. If this bag had something like that it would have been waterproof.I tried this bag due to the cost, a bag that could handle getting rained on, and wanting a zippered waterproof bag in this size, however I'll need something else.Hope this review helps you in your search.

It holds a surprising amount of items. Practicality with the handlebars are awesome, easy to unhook the backpack straps yet sturdy enough to hold together with movement. I enjoy the side zipper as the pocket is the length of the bag and can hold more than expected. Well made waterproof bag, would recommend for people on a bike that need to carry a lot of items without them getting wet. Good for tropical travel!

I use this to store my tools and cooler on the back of my UTV. It keeps everything dry, and bigger than that it keeps all the Moab dust out. That's very hard to do, and this works like a charm. Heavy duty bag, survived a lot of abuse in Utah, and still functioning great.

Bag got wet & bled it’s color all over my white boat seat & I could not get the stain to come out of the boat seat so now I have a discolored boat seat :(

The zipper leaked air

I purchased this bag specifically for a sailboat trip I was making in the Caribbean. This bag served well on this trip and was used again recently on a fishing trip to Alaska. I never dropped the bag in the ocean, so I can't swear it is completely waterproof, but it served my needs very well and remains a go to bag for trips into the wild or when sailing.
