Excellent tasting salt with a very old medieval history from France.
Wow, this is great tasting salt! You think salt is salt? Think again! This s.a.l.t sisters Sel Gris Organic Sea Salt from the Guerande, France area has a very long history of use, starting from about 945 AD with the local Monks from the Abby. The picturesque medieval walled town of Guerand is on the west coast of France, located by the salt marshes, and has been harvested for centuries (there's also a peat bog nearby). The Sel Gris is an unrefined grey salt, coarser than regular table salt, and is the tastiest and healthiest of all Sea Salts. It's full-flavored, but not too salty, and has a lower sodium content. (I did some research.) Tonight we sprinkled some on our vine-ripened homegrown tomatoes.....delicious with a crunch! Oh!, and also did the same with our grilled steak! So good.

Wonderful sea salt
The s.a.l.t. sisters Sel Gris Organic French Sea Salt, All Natural Coarse Salt, Dissolves Easily, GMO and MSG Free, Great for Meat, Fish, Vegetables, Chocolates, Candy, 1 pound is a classic sea salt. The coarse salt can be used as is, or it can be put in a grinder for a finer finishing touch. If used as is, the bag is resealable and stands up well. The difference in flavor from table salt is subtle, but I do like it. It's just a hair briny. I've found that I like this salt best on roasted vegetables. (There are other salts I like better on candy.)At $13 per pound, the pricing seems fair.

Great flavor, interesting texture.
I've been using this a lot lately, both as an ingredient and as a finishing salt.It has a good salty salty flavor with just a bit of earthiness to it.The texture is interesting, not something I'm use to. I feel like the salt itself it a little moist and it tends to stick together a little like sticky rice, but I wouldn't call it clumpy.

tasty finishing salt
Very nice. Quality seems fantastic. I like the pressure zip bag that this gray Celtic/French salt comes in. Works well having some poured into my little salt bowl that sits out on my counter. It is the perfect salt to take a pinch of to finish off a recipe/meal. Yum!
