Golden AgeClassical Guitar Tuners, Relic Brass with Ebony Knobs

These tuners are absolutely beautiful, the wood is very elegant and the antique brass finish is very pretty, does not look cheap or blemished. The reason I held back a 5 star review is that the gear tolerance is not as tight as I had anticipated at this price point. I have a set of Rubner tuners that I paid a little more for, which have a tension washer underneath each gear. (but I still had to tweak the Rubners a bit before they felt totally solid). I guess what I'm trying to say is that these new tuners don't have any sort of tension washer so you can't really dial them in for a stiff, consistent tension. They are beautifully made and I love how they look and feel, I just expected a little more accuracy/consistency at this price level. They are VERY worth the money, but I will be experimenting with my own tension washer to even them out. Its always something with this type of tuner, like each one feels good except the G or the B, right? like one feels slightly wimpier and fussy. Hopefully you get what I mean here, that said these are very beautiful and I highly recommend them for the aesthetic upgrade alone.

So far they work how you would expect them to. Easy to install, but screw holes did not line up with previous tuners. I just drilled a couple pilot holes and screwed them in. Took about 10 minutes for the installation. Good quality would recommend.
