Caramote Portable Battery Base for Amazon Echo (3rd Gen) and Echo Plus(2nd Generation), Battery Base Makes Them Portable,Not for Echo (2nd Generation) and Echo Plus(1st Generation)

So this item works as advertised, no issues there. It is easy to set up and use, and it's pretty well built. The battery lasts several hours. If you are listening to POD casts or the news, this is a five-star item. If you listen to causal background music, five stars... if you listen to anything with some base above volume level two... then it's a two-star item. The base from the Echo comes from being on a solid base. This battery has eight "wings" that the Echo screws down onto. This makes the base pop like a broken speaker. Soo much so that I no longer use the battery, it just sounds bad on it. The Echo sounds great on my desk, on the counter, in the garage, outside on the deck... as long as it is plugged in and set on a hard surface, and not on the battery. I like the idea here and I wish Echo was portable... oh well, back to the cord.

I like the unit, it's portable, and I like the fact that the cord plugs in rather than the prongs on another unit. Only thing I am having a problem with is the "bass" is affected when I attach the unit. I have to turn it down below "0" to make it quit vibrating/muffled sound. If I use it without the charging base, it's alright. Anyone else have this problem?..Also in order to turn the "base" off, you can't just press the on/off button. You have to disconnect the little plug that goes into the Echo so you don't run the battery down. I will probably return it just for that reason.

This is a good idea. However, I am not a fan of paying so much for an electric item that needs to be charged but that does not come with it's own charging outlet. It says the power base of the echo is what you are to use to charge this item. I have the 3rd generation echo and my cord does not fit. I think it's a good idea in order to make the echo mobile but I'm thinking about sending it back for the simple fact that I dont want to spend more money on a charger for it.

Bought for echo plus second gen. Couldn’t get it to twist on correctly to fit right. After the third attempt at fruit to make it sit right in the base, it wouldn’t twist back off. At all. Just stayed wobbling on the base. I Wound up BUSTING IT OFF. So now I have the metal piece from the base that supposed to twist into bottom of speaker stuck somehow in the bottom of my echo. I am so irate that now I HAVE to keep the piece of crap battery so my echo stands straight up. I am sooo disappointed! I researched all the batteries available and thought this one was the ticket.

DOES NOT COME WITH CHARGER. Basically a paperweight. This seller is sending sn incomplete, nonworking product you have to but sn odd 18v adapter to use. Unfortunately I did not open the box until after I could no longer return it, but Amazon Buyer Beware! This product will not work unless ypu spend more. Rip off.

I had ordered the one by Mission Cables twice and the pins never lined up to connect for a charge on either one. I'm glad someone came out with a better unit. I've charged it twice, works great so far. I haven't tested it for duration of playing time yet, but we'll see. Also, it's different than the other one in that you simply screw it onto the base and don't worry with any pins lining up. I like that feature. Hoping it lasts a long time!

I hate that I had to spend an additional 50 bucks to make my Echo portable. BUT, I really like this item! I've had it for over a month and it performs better than I thought it would. Having grouped my echo plus with two echo dots, I can now take my plus out on the patio and not miss a beat when throwing parties. What you hear outside is what you hear inside. In fact, the portable battery does so well, I just ponied up for an echo dot version well.Oh, almost forgot, I've played music on this for over 5 hours at levels 4, 5 and 6 and never run out of juice. Good stuff!

The power cable from my Echo Plus 2 was too big to fit the battery boot input? I went and checked my echo box to be sure it was generation 2 just to be sure. I didn't want to try and force it and possibly damage it after trying to plug it in a few times. However, the battery power base short cable fit my Echo Plus fine? Too bad cause I was looking forward to using it.
