SO&CO New York Men's 5042.2 Yacht Club Quartz Unidirectional Blue Bezel Date Stainless Steel Link Bracelet Watch

This is a very attractive watch. It looks like a far more expensive Seiko. The surface finish on the watch and band presents a very good appearance. I suspect that the blue paint on the bezel can be scratched but I'm not going to deliberately attempt to find out. It's easy to read at a glance because there is good contrast between the hands and the dial, plus the hands are reasonably wide. Amazon provides dimensions of the watch but a description helps. My wrists are a bit larger in diameter than average (according to a watch repair guy). It's possible to remove 8 links. I removed 3 so the watch will fit substantially larger wrists. At the same time, the watch is pretty large and if my wrists were smaller than average it would look goofy wearing it. Both the watch and the bands are heavy, so if you want a light watch this one isn't for you. The band has a nice locking mechanism and it is by no means a flimsy band. So far (a couple of weeks) the watch has kept good time, within a couple seconds/week. The phosphors on the hands and dial are adequate, but not great. Seiko, Pulsar, and Wenger (and probably lots of others) use phosphors that are brighter and glow longer. Their watches also cost several times more than this one did. The rotating bezel (unidirectional) moves with the right amount or resistance. It's not too difficult to turn but it won't reset easily by rubbing against clothing. As for water resistance, who knows? I wore it a couple of times in the shower and it seems to be good, but that's a marginal test. I like this watch. It wasn't expensive, it looks great, keeps good time, and appears to be sturdy.

Pros:- keeps very accurate time - quartz movements are the best.- big visible hands make it easy to read time - even in low light - because of a good contrast, I don't even need to wear my glasses anymore to read time.- looks: rich and sophisticated. even the bracelet is great.- solid construction and waterproof -with a screw down crown.- bezel is very convenient (I love this little feature - as a chrono).- very affordable, compared to Seiko, Momentum, & Invicta models, with no loss of quality.Cons:- a bit heavy - something to get used to.- the glow-in-the-dark feature could be perfected - doesn't shine so much & doesn't last long.I tried other models before this one, but was not as satisfied.Just knowing I can buy a great product at less than half the price of others is a great feeling.I would give this one 5 stars if it were not for the poor glow-in-the-dark feature.

Last time I dived was off a pier. But I still qualify to wear this attractive, functional watch. Blue dial and magnified date slot are easy to read, even in poor light. Biggest problem is thanking all the people who complimented me on this baby. Enjoy, future owners. Same watch with red, white, blue dial is knockout, too.

I'd rate this as a 3.3 star watch.Pros:+Durable (I dropped it on the ground and the glass didn't crack)+Looks kind of like a Rolex+The blue tone background of the watch is beautiful in personCons:-It's a heavy watch-The bulb (where you adjust the time, date, etc.) can hit your wrist and bruise your hand. It's bruised my hand several times, esp when I've been walking around

Immediately upon opening the box, setting the watch, the bezel was not on center. I turned the bezel to center it at 12:00, the bezel snap ring broke and the bezel ring fell off.I returned the watch the next day.Really cheap looking and a junky watch.

After wearing it for one day, the band already is scratched from normal wear. I wish the band was made from a better metal so as not to scratch so easily.

Beautiful watch that keeps going and at a wonderful price. Was easy to take out links using a cheap $10 watch link removal kit, so I could size it myself in my own home. I love the watch.

This watch is amazing in every aspect. It gives you a sophisticated look when paired with formal wear. The only issues I have (for which I have given it 4 stars) are:1. It's rather heavy, but I guess the material itself is heavy so it's something you get used to.2. The little dial is very hard to operate. It's a challenge to pull it out to adjust the date and time, and trying to push it back in is also hard, especially when it continually pops out.Still, for the price and the look, it's a very nice watch to have.
