Bayco SL-425A Metal Shield Incandescent Utility Light with 16-Gauge Cord and Grounded Receptacle

I bought a couple of these to place under vehicles in the driveway at night to help deter pack rats. I set the lights up on a timer so that they would automatically turn on and off. They worked great! The cords were occasionally exposed to a bit of rain, although I tried to keep the light fixture dry. Eventually I had to replace one because the cord got chewed--probably by the rats. These really helped keep the rats from eating the car engines, so the price was well worth it! I would definitely buy these again.

Very durable unit... long cord - I'm still trying to decide if the long cord is better or worse... I like the option of it being long... but it seems like its always in the way. Not that that is a product issue.. more preference.

I have it hooked up on my porch with a remote control inside so it serves as an investigation light at night.However I own this model before and there is so many times I need this light to work on a car or various other things around the house. Battery lights are okay but they need charge batteries and as fo yet do not supply the same amount of light.A very good buy... not much can go wrong with them,

Very good and usefull

More than I expected. Cord in bottom of handle moves so light will stand vertical. Nice 3 prong outlet in handle no need to run another extension cord to run accessories in poor lighted areas.

Last month I bought a drop light from a local store. I'm working on rewiring my Chevy LUV and the light with handle was too bulky to get up under the dash. Searching for a quality drop light that would fit my needs, I ordered the Bayco SL-425A . Perfect!! The handle is short overall length is short enough to lay it anywhere under the dash or hook it where I can. I might suggest that you install a CREE 75w LED bulb. It's bright enough to clearly see what you're doing and the housing of the drop light doesn't heat up, keeping one from experiencing getting burnt. As for durability, haven't had it long enough, butu I think it will last.

Good quality at an fair price and seems well made. I prefer the all metal construction of this utility light instead of plastic.

Pretty good trouble light however I'd prefer if the handle had a rubberised material covering it for better grip. This one is hard plastic and a bit bulky.

Was a gift for boyfriend, he said it was perfect. Nice long cord wich is hard to find, and the bulb protector is in metal. Appears to be of good quality
