MIU France Brushed Stainless Steel Colander, Silver, 7-Qt.

The item itself is fine, but like the first one the leg is broke. They put the airbags.in the bowl part instead of around the legs. This has happened twice to us, one from a different company and now this time.

I bought this because I really like this type of leg on a colander and I needed a larger one. Mine arrived with some black marks from manufacturing that took some time to remove, and the legs and handles are welded on in what doesn't appear to be the strongest way - not the highest quality I've seen but it feels solid and hopefully will last a long time. It is nice and shiny (except where the black marks were) and does the trick, so I'm happy with it.

This is the second colander of this type purchased for us. We have the slightly smaller 5 quart model from MIU that we purchased about 5 years ago. We love the 5 quart so much we decided to purchase this model as we needed a second larger colander as we frequently need two at the same time. If you like super heavy duty stainless kitchen tools that never wear out or even show any wear you will love this! The only tiny complaint are the legs are not very tall and if you empty an entire stock pot of pasta and water into this colander when sitting in your sink the water level may rise up and touch the bottom of the colander. We put an inexpensive stainless sink grid (looks like a cooling rack) into our sink for a number of reasons. When we place the colander on the sink grid it raises it up another 3/4" so it overcomes that issue. Everything is spot welded and it is really easy to clean and has no areas where food can get trapped. The holes are the perfect diameter to not allow smaller foods to fall out as can be the case with other colanders.

Received this colander with one foot completely broken off and one side of a handle separated from the bowl. Very disappointing as the colander itself seems well made and very functional.

This is so perfect, I purchased two more. Never again would I buy plastic colanders. I promise you will love it and it looks great.

Nice and big - I have had it a few months now and it is holding up well. Still nice and shiny.
