It works on some devices but not others
The device shows up under Windows 10 just fine, but does not enumerate on my devices that use Linux firmware. The network adapter chip is a Realtek 8153 version 5c30. Support for that version wasn't added in Linux until kernel 4.2. Unfortunately the device I want to use it with has Linux kernel 3.17 and is not upgradable.

Yay
It works... I use it for streaming from my phone. The pass thru charging is 60 watts but my phone battery slowly dies at that rate when streaming. Otherwise no problem. It certainly is better than not having power to my phone. The ethernet connection is great. My gateway device gives me 1 gig.

Fails to keep my tablet charged (at full brightness) but otherwise great
Useless for me as it doesn't keep my tablet charged. Didn't even try the Ethernet port. :(Update: tried a more expensive hub and had same problem. Now using this one to power an Android tablet 24/7, after implementing some power saving strategies. So far so good. 😊Update: Android sucks at Ethernet; always gets into a state (after about 24 hours) where it fails, but doesn't know it fails (so nothing anything can do to recover, requiring user intervention to reset the Ethernet setting). :(Update: LAN connection works very well, though find it irritating that Android doesn't detect it after a reboot (have to unplug, tap "Ethernet" again, wait for DHCP, etc.

Works for Samsung phones! Get a PD power supply
Thought I should write a quick review to talk about, and correct the reviews that say it will not pass enough power to a samsung galaxy phone. The issue that can happen is that if your power adapter does not support PD Power Delivery, it will not charge. And the normal charger that comes with the phone does not support PD, only QC Quick Charge. They are different.Samsung phones support both, but ethernet adapters with pass through power only support PD.So if you want to use this, and charge your phone, you need to purchase a PD power supply. It will work great.

Ethernet adapter with PD charging
This adapter works perfect for my IPAD pro (2018, 2021) as well as my Samsung and Lenovo tablets. The Ethernet port works perfect. Not: most of the original power chargers that come with tablets/phone do not have the capability for PD charging .So when using this adapter for charging, you will have purchase a PD charger.

Works with my Pixel 5
I bought this so that I could use the rear camera on my Pixel 5 phone as a NDI camera for OBS without using up the Wi-Fi. It was just plug and play— I plugged in a USB C-C cable into a USB-C PD charger; I plugged an AmazonBasics Ethernet Cable into a switch on my desk, and I plugged the USB-C end into my phone. It was recognized right away and works just fine with the NDI camera app.

Not for Galaxy phones!
Since these are supposed to work with Galaxy tablets, I was counting on this item working with my Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones. Not really. The Ethernet portion works well. No major problems there. The problem is the power portion is lousy. I tried connecting several power adapters to the unit. The phone would immediately respond with a charging notification. However, the phone also displayed "full charge in 22 hours, 30 minutes." When I disconnected the C2G device, the same charger(s) would display "full charge in 1 hour, 20 minutes."I tried this with several chargers (both the original Samsung charger and others). Never worked as expected. Even when completely idle (airplane mode, WiFi off), the battery level would decline, even though it was (slowly) charging.

WARNING!!! Do not buy!
I bought this for our company to connect our iPad Pros at the office with power and ethernet, the only problem is anytime the power at our office goes off and then back on, the C2G adapter stops supplying power and ethernet to our iPad Pros and the only way to get it to charge the iPad is to unplug the iPad and plug it back in. Imagine doing that for 40 iPads!
