Ivation Trigger Start Propane Torch, High-Temperature Flame Torch [2372°F] w/Easy Trigger-Start Ignition & Adjustable Flame Control for Light Welding, Soldering, Brazing, Heating, Thawing & More

I tried this on two gas canisters, one partially full, one new. With both, I could hear gas hissing and loud clicks as I pulled the trigger, but no spark. I was going to return this nozzle until I read a review describing a very simple adjustment of the electronic spark generator. I've used this nozzle several times since, and it fires right up with a consistent, tight, very controllable flame. Thank you, R. Veldman, for saving me the hassle of having to go through the return process!

Difficult to get small flame.

My old torch lighter was giving out, so I ordered this one. I use it, attached to a blue propane bottle, to light my Wiseway pellet stove. W.O.W.!!! Its NEVER lit so fast! It sounds like a jet engine when cranked up full bore, but that is adjustable. (Though I greatly enjoy the rapid fire starter and find the jet engine in my living room for a few moments to not be bothersome at all!)If this ever goes out on me, I will be re ordering this exact product!!(And possibly sooner. I think hubby is envious and wants to replace his shop one!)

Okay, I know that it wasn't designed for this, but this is the perfect thing for lighting a campfire. It produces great heat, so even if you don't have good fire starting material or your fire starting material isn't super dry, this will start just about anything on fire. And since we already carry 1lb propane canisters with us, it takes up hardly any extra space. It's super easy to start and super effective, and way more fun than using matches. Maybe someday, I'll also use it for something it was designed for.

I bought the Ivation propane ignitor about a year ago in 2020. I don't use it a lot. My old ignitor was a Benz? and it lasted about 30 years.(I like to use the short/fat propane bottles because they don't tip over as easy.)The Ivation worked well for almost a year, and I never had any issues with tank leak-down.But the spark/ignitor started getting iffy, and finally it quit working. The trigger still felt right. It had finger pressure resistance and still clicked/snapped.Well, it turns out it, there was spark, but the arc was too short.Unscrew the gold tip from the tube; it's only hand tight. Look for the black wire. press the trigger and look for the spark jumping from the end of the black wire. (The darker the room, the easier to see.)Bend the black wire to the center of the silver fork, and away from the wall of the tube.The picture shows mine after I fixed it... great spark.Hand tighten the tip back on. Lights up every time!

In general, I like the torch, but didn't realize that I would need to open and close the cylinder every time I used it. I thought that by using the trigger it would open and close the propane supply automatically. It's still way better then having to use another source (lighter, match, sparker) to light it. I'm quite happy with it.

I bought this product for a small job of helping peel excess outdoor caulk off of the wood trim around my garage door. The tool worked as expected. My only comment, and this is certainly to be expected, I usuallly had to click it several times before it lit, but it does light and it seems sturdy.

Very poorly made. Mine won't shut the propane completely off. The first time I shut it off, it stayed lit inside the tube. I didn't hear anything, so I assumed it was off. An hour later, I burnt my hand when I grabbed it. The next time I shut it off, it stayed cool to the touch, but a few minutes later, the room smelled of propane. I'd return it, but I've already had it too long. Now I have to remove the propane bottle after using it.
