A Box Full of Lilly: Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse and Lilly's Big Day

Nice boxed book set. Sturdy book covers and thick, high quality pages. A bit pricey for two children’s books though.

We got this long ago when our kids were much younger. I have to say, that they STILL listen to these! They check out the books from the library, and they play this cd, and look at the pictures while it's reading it to them. In fact, they did it this week....again. So delightful! Sometimes when my youngest son can't go to sleep, this makes him feel cozy and he falls right to sleep. We even take it in the care for long trips. GLAD we got this. :)

My daughter’s name is Lilly (with two L’s in the middle) and it is so hard to find anything. So glad I found these and such a cute story. I hope the author writes more.

These are quite possibly the most enjoyable children's books of our day! My grandkids LOVE them, ages 4--14. They want me to buy every one Kevin Henkes has written, and I may do it. This is a man who knows how to tell a story that kids love to hear, and the message behind the story is wholesome and helps kids laugh with Lilly as she learns about life.

I bought this for my niece for Christmas and decided to read it before I gave it to her. I am very glad I did. I thought the stories were not very engaging.One of the tag lines in "Lily's Big Day" was something of the sort "All she could think of was wow. Just wow.". This was repeated frequently throughout the story. Really? These are written for 4 -8 year old kids and that is the best tag line you can come up with?Overall, the story of "Lily's Big Day" was just boring and I didn't even finish it. Based on this story, I didn't even attempt to read "Lily's Purple Plastic Purse" as I didn't feel either one of them was going to keep the niece interested. She is just 4, and it may be that these books are better suited toward the 7-8 year old range of readers. I was very disappointed, as these came so highly recommended. I ended up returning them and bought her something else for Christmas.

We have bought this set both as a gift to a teacher and as a gift to a newborn baby Lilly. Both recipients love the book sets. They are packaged in a good quality box with nice cover art. The books inside are both hardcover. The print included is not folded - it is flat, so it is a bit smaller than the size of the books.

My granddaughter loved the book. Arrived in perfect shape.
