It flickers when in use does not respond to the clapping

I changed my bedroom around and couldn't reach the light from bed. Got this. Works great and makes me laugh every time I clap on, clap off, the clapper! So retro and a great invention!

It works but anything from a loud scene on TV or you laughing will cause it to turn on or off BUT when you clap three times it will not respond. Fairly annoying.

My husband has bad coughing fits due to asthma and the light tends to respond and turn on/off which can be a problem in the middle of the night. Same with rapid succession claps of thunder. On the other hand, sometimes it's hard to get out to respond to the hand claps. It's still convenient because the lamp the bulb is in is way over in a far corner.

We tried using this several times on several different lamps. About 75% of the time the light would not go on after 3 chaps. I had my wife also try it and she had less positive results than I did. I tried really hard chapping my hands and still I had little luck on getting it to light on/off.Would not recommend this one

It’s so sensitive to literally any and all random noises big or small. Even just talking sets it off and on every night. But to INTENTIONALLY turn it on. You have to do 3 HARD claps just right for it to work. Loud enough to wake the rest of the household. But when I don’t want it on it suddenly gets triggered by anything. I bought it to make the lamp I have above my bed easier to turn on and off because I have a tall shelf like head board and it’s a stretch and a half trying to reach up and turn the lamp on and off when I need it especially when I’m trying to get settled in bed. And didn’t want a remote bulb because I was worried about the remote falling under the bed frequently and being an absolute pain trying to get it back out. Big mistake and I’m not a happy camper when I get woken up at 2:30 am because my dog literally just stood up and the sound of her tags hitting her collar turned the light on. Yet when I want to turn it on I have to clap until my hands turn red.
