From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ivy Smoak comes a scorching professor/student romance about breaking all the rules. Shy student Penny Taylor always follows the rules. At least, that’s how it appears to her classmates. But she has one illicit secret - she’s fallen hard for her professor. And she’s pretty sure he’s fallen for her too. Everyone loves Professor Hunter. He’s tall, dark, and handsome. And completely unobtainable. But it’s the secrets hiding behind his deep brown eyes that allures Penny. Secrets darker than she could ever imagine. James Hunter gave up his billionaire lifestyle in NYC last year to become a professor. The easiest new rule to follow: don’t fraternize with the students. It’s easy to follow because he’s become quite the recluse in his new town - the only way he knows how to keep his secrets buried. But he never expected to be teaching such a beautiful student. He has to resist her. He needs to walk away. Penny deserves better than a man with his demons. But she’s daring him to cross the line. And he’s never been one to resist temptation. Tropes: Professor Student Romance Love at First Sight Possessive Billionaire Hero Super Spicy Sneaking Around Campus Uncovering His Secrets Breaking the Rules Spice with all the feels Healing Her Heart Temptation is book 1 of a complete 8 book series that should be read in order. If you love a possessive billionaire hero, then you've found your next book boyfriend!

Tantalizing Temptation!
Let me begin my review by saying I’m not usually into the student/professor romance genre. I’ve only read one other, but happened to love it, so I figured I would give this a shot when Ivy emailed me with an offer to read her book. I cannot express how grateful I am to have been given the opportunity to read and review her book because I loved it. I could not put this book down and I went through some serious emotions throughout the entire story line.I will be honest I have very conflicting feelings about the two main characters. Let me start off with Penny. Penny is a 19 year old sophomore in college and starts off sweet, but works herself into an indecisive nut that I just want to shake and yell, “Smarten up!”(As previously mentioned, I went through a roller coaster of emotions). Penny is trying to get over a guy she was intimate with the previous semester, although he didn’t like to put titles on relationships, so they weren’t boyfriend/girlfriend.One day, while leaving a coffee shop she runs into a gorgeous stranger who turns out to be her communications professor. Professor Hunter is unlike Penny’s previous man in so many ways. He is a very assertive man and I will admit I love me a good Alpha and trust me Professor Hunter does not disappoint. He’s dominant, sexy, smart, and intense; all the things that make this girl swoon. To make a long story short they tried to separate but just couldn’t resist each other, and so begins the on again off again relationship. The sex scenes in the book are pretty damn steamy. There are enticing secrets which keep you hooked! I don’t want to give away the entire book, however, I can tell you it’s definitely worth the read! I just never wanted the book to end and when it did, with a cliff hanger I might add, it left me dying in anticipation. I just can’t wait to continue the rest of her series! The first book in this series was outstanding, I personally loved it. Purchase this book, you will not be dissatisfied! Oh and once again thank you Ivy for writing an awesome series and reaching out to me!

pretty good read
This was pretty good. An easy straight forward read, nothing ground breaking. The main characters were only okay for me. The FMC Penny is young (19 yo) and acts like it. She makes messy choices often and has poor communication skills. All things you expect at that age. Just unsure if that’s something I enjoy it in the main characters I read. Professor Hunter is mysterious and broody. He has pretty crappy communication skills for his age and career. Tyler was an odd one, he was into Penny, but it felt surface level only and there was the whole forcing himself on her at the party. Was he likable or was he douche-y, I couldn’t decide. The best friend Melissa was half self absorbed and half a good friend. I sort of expected her to turn out to be a backstabbing crappy friend bc her character was just a little off to me. What best friend contacts the ex boyfriend that ghosted your bestie and broke her heart and then forces your bestie on a date with him? It felt off, I was half expecting Melissa to be hooking up with the ex or something, it was a weird situation. Why not just have the characters run in to each other out one night and then they could have the same big blow up where Penny finally stands up for herself. Would have felt more organic and less forced. There were some other parts that were hard to believe as well, like that her professor would pick her up, drop her off and kiss her right in front of her dorm and it seemed like it was no big deal. I mean when I was in college there were ppl coming and going from the dorms at all hours, ppl were just always around. The idea that no one ever saw them just didn’t seem believable. Why not just have them in an apartment or a house somewhere off campus? That to me would have been way more believable than all that happening at the dorms. Then the break up at the end also felt forced, I mean what the heck, he’s married and she’s his student, how and why is the deal breaker for him that she 19 not 21 or that she didn’t tell him right away, they had only been together a couple weeks and known each other around a month. It was like the break up was a cliffhanger intended to get the reader to move in to the next book. Bc there was already a 3rd act break up and then this break up at the end, it just felt unnecessary. As I’m writing this review I’m realizing there were quite a few parts that were not believable or felt forced to fit the plot, when they could have been more organic and believable. Which is probably why I wasn’t feeling super invested with the characters.Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t a horrible read by any means, it was entertaining and I will definitely continue on to the next book.

Beyond what I was expecting, could not put it down
I stepped away from reading for quite awhile couldn’t find anything that kept my attention especially being a series I had my doubts at first but THIS! WOW! This whole series is AMAZING!!! As soon I finished the first book I bought the next two and I devoured them, in a crazy fast time (currently waiting on book 4 and mad at myself for not getting it all to begin with. I will absolutely get book 5 when it’s released). This story hooks you right in, keeps you on your toes and wanting to read more. I literally could not put them down. Very descriptive sexual scenes that almost made me feel embarrassed to read but I couldn’t stop it was so enticing. (Keep your S.O close you’ll want them after some of the parts 😉)Each book got better and better. Reading as the characters developed i could feel the hurt as they went through it. Just beyond what I was initially expecting and so glad I picked this up. I can’t say enough good things about this (now if only the last books would hurry up so I can finish). The author did a great job keeping me invested and wanting more. I did notice a few grammatical mistakes but don’t even care these are just amazing. Will be looking into more by this author her writing style really grabs me where I was looking.

Silly but sexy book
So, I gave this book 3 stars because even though it had ridiculous conversations, a clueless main character, and too many moments that left you saying, "Are you kidding me?", for some reason I'm still somewhat looking forward to book 2. We have an attempted sexual assault that is handled in a completely baffling way. The assault should have just been left out. It served zero purpose. The female lead changes her mind about her men more than she changes her clothes. She's so immature you start to feel like you're reading a character who is pre-teen. Then this professor and student hang out all over campus, and he even comes to her dorm, but we're supposed to believe or feel like it's a risky, forbidden, or dangerous thing they're doing? The ending is just stupid. He gets irrationally angry about something that really isn't even that big of a deal and treats our clueless girl like she's just drowned his favorite puppy. The sex was good, the male character is good, and I'm an optimist. I have hopes it will get better. I feel like I'm invested now. May as well push through.

So Intense and So Steamy!
This was an amazing read! A little bit cringy about the age difference and the danger of it all, but that's really the point, isn't it? <wink>

It have its ups and downs
I have my ups and downs with this book. It's an ok romance with a lot of steamy scenes and tons of sex, so if you are looking for a hot book, this is a good option. But in terms on the characters and the way the story move forward I find it a bit lacking. The book present the romantic story of Penny, a nerdy, bit shy college student with a little love live experience and a recently break up; and James Hunter, a wealthy, super hot, control freak professor. After a casual encounter on a coffee shop, in a kind of insta-love situation, Penny realize Professor Hunter is her Comm professor. They tried -not so much, really- to keep away from each other with no success and end up caught up in a hot, steamy, secretly, student-teacher romance. The good things first: James is the typical alpha male character: smoking hot, powerful, wealthy, with control issues and tons of mystery and secrecy. It's an stereotype because it works, and if you are into this kind of romance you are going to enjoy him. The narrative and writing style is good, easy to follow, and you can enjoy the reading from beginning to end. I also like tha the author marked the week days in each chapter, what help to follow the timeline of the story. Now, to the bad parts. Penny It's really infuriating, and not in the good way James implied in the story. I starting to really hate this weak female characters that doesn't know when they stand in life. She hurt a friend by leading him to believe she was interested, and all the fights she had with James were for her incapacity to actually have a mature conversation. I'm going to give her a chance to grow, taking into a count this is a long series, and understanding she is young and inexperience. But many of the angst and drama could be help it by a simple and honest conversation. The Professor Hunter thing is tiresome, I swear the 30% of the book is "Professor Hunter", literal. I even omitted sometimes while reading, because it was too much. Also, lately I'm not that into in that insta-love kind of romance, I enjoy more to see a couple grow into each other while the get to know each other, but that's a personal preference and I also enjoy good steamy-sex scene, so it's not that bat.Summarizing, I would rate it 3.5 if I could. It's a good hot, sexy, story... and if you are not looking for more than that is pretty good. Don't expect deep connections, conversations or big character transformations, this is basically a sexy romance, and it's fun in that sense.

TEACHER'S PET?
This was my second read by Ivy Smoak, I started with Made of Steel and was waiting for the next installment. I joined her Facebook page and heard everyone talking about the Hunted series. Well, since I loved the first book I had read, I dived into Temptation. This was back in 2017. I am just now writing a review because at that time I did not realize how important reviews were to the authors.I absolutely loved this entire series! I do not understand why people give a bad review because a book ends on a cliffhanger. It is easy to see if a book is a standalone or in a series, either by the blurb or the reviews. Also, the author gives you the first book free so you can see if you like It or not. If you do, then, no brainer, buy the next book. You don't buy it if you don't. I happened to love this series!Teacher/student trope is one of my favorite, and Penny and James are dynamite together!💖. Their chemistry is so palpable and the heat simmered off my Kindle! I think everyone has had a crush on a teacher at some time or another, so it is a fantasy come true to get to live it vicariously thru this couple. Yes, there is a cliffhanger. Yes, I bought the next book. And the succeeding books! That's what a good story and author will get you to do! At least you don't have to wait on them. They are all available now!!!This is a definite FIVE STAR 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Read!! So get to reading, y'all!

Wow! This Book Series Has Me Hooked!
Let me start off by saying that I had heard about this series for a while now. I bought the series a few years ago because I seen a book recommendation on FB. I put off reading it because I am normally not into teacher student romances. My friend started reading these books and told me that had to give them a try. Now that I have I am very sorry that I waited. These books are 🔥🔥🔥. Professor Hunter has me in awe and swooning. With that said I will say that this is a book series. That normally implies that there is a cliffhanger that will continue with the following books. However I wanted to put that out there so that those who do not like cliffhangers will be warned. This series has 4 books but there is a spin off Series called Men of Manhattan. That can be read as standalone but are about some of the secondary characters in The Hunted series. Another spin off is Light of My Darkness series. I also wanted to put this out there so that you can find the whole story. Now that I have told you about all of that I will get on with my review....College is resuming after summer break. Penny goes to a coffee shop in hopes of seeing a boy she likes and use to date before Summer break. The guy she liked never came into the coffeeshop goes to finally leave and handsome guy came in at the same time and she spilled coffee all over her shirt. The man felt back and gave her his sweater to wear to class. The next day she went to her Comm class and the handsome man was her professor. This book has a lot of 🔥🔥🔥 moments. I never really knew what these 2 were going to do next or what was going to happen to them next. I couldn't put the book down. I have found myself devoted in finding out how this story plays out. There are some characters that I want to smack, there are characters that I find funny, and there are characters that I loathe. This hit a lot of my emotions. However I am very happy that My friend told me that I should read these books. I never should have waited. If you like Alpha type men, a Book with a lot of emotions, a lot of 🔥🔥🔥 passion, and a good story. Then I recommend this book series.

protagonista egocentrica

His name!
I did somewhat enjoy reading this but it became so annoying with Penny constantly saying Professor Hunter when she called his name. Really!!!
