There are NO openings. You have to drill the holes where you need them and either use grommets or cable glands.

It will depend on what you are attaching it to. The cover already has screws for it.

How do these hold up to direct sunlight UV light? Do they get brittle?

I would imagine these boxes would get brittle eventually if left in sunlight. For exterior use, I would choose a metal enclosure over a plastic enclosure. Alternatively, one could paint it to help with UV protection
