Posturite Penguin Ambidextrous Wired Ergonomic Mouse | USB, Alleviates RSI, Easy-Glide, Vertical Design, PC Computer & Apple Mac Compatible (Black/Silver, Size: Small)

I really needed an excellent ergonomic mouse to handle long days of computer work, and tried a wide variety of them. This is the best I've found and I've been quite happy with it. The mouse is turned sideways compared to the typical kind so the hand can be in a more natural "handshake" position, which I've found more comfortable. It significantly reduced wrist pain and I've been able to handle the long days on the computer much more easily. It probably only took a few days to get used to it. I've now bought it for multiple workstations. I do notice that on one of the mice, I sometimes I can't use the middle rolling part smoothly (it seems to catch and not scroll correctly). It might just be a slight error that affects some of them, as I haven't had that problem on all. I also LOVE that they have this smaller size. It made a huge difference in comfort. The big one is just plain too big for my hand.

My Penguin has prevented thumb and wrist pain from CAD drafting for over 3 years. No other weird looking mouse did the same. I have pretty average sized female hands (can wear Small and Medium sized gloves)and measured for the Medium size, but it was way too big. Returned it for the Small instead. I would have given it 5 stars, but the scroll wheel stopped working a little over a year of owning it (using daily). There is a 2 year warranty, but I've reached out to the company twice without any response, so it sucks that I have to pay for it again. I hope the next one is not defective as well!

I had joint replacement in my right hand. I bought this mouse since i knew I was having surgery and it is easy to use with either hand. I normally use a mouse with my right hand and there is a "bowtie" switch to change the scroll wheel direction when you switch hands. The mouse buttons stay the same, the top button does the same function on either hand. I can even use it with my splint.

I had high hopes for this. It was the first vertical mouse I've tried. Like many, I was seeking relief from wrist and shoulder pain. I am right handed but only use the mouse with my left hand now, and this was one of the few choices available for lefties. Unfortunately, this was more awkward than comfortable for me. It created a different set of repetitive stress pains for me. You have to move the whole unit around, which doesn't feel comfortable for your shoulder and arms. I ordered the size small, which was still too big for my hand. The buttons take a lot of effort to push, which causes wrist pain if you have to do a lot of clicking. I was hoping it would function kind of like a joystick, but it's not like that at all. Some of my coworkers tried using it as well and agreed that it wasn't comfortable. I'm going to try a Logitech trackball mouse next to see if that is more comfortable.

I bought this mouse in October 2015 and, while it takes a bit to get used to, I have grown to love it. I write for a living so my hand needed a break. That said, you do have to be careful not to shift the stress to other body parts (e.g. the shoulder) when using this sort of device. One major bonus with this mouse is that it is very easy to switch from a left-handed mouse to a right-handed one with -- literally -- the flick of a switch. In June 2017, I began having issues with the scrolling function. This mouse comes with a 2-year guarantee and I wondered if that would really be true (as most folks, I've been sorely disappointed with so-called "guarantees" in the past!). But this guarantee was a real one. Imagine my delight when I received a replacement mouse from Posturite within about a week of writing them with the issue. (The fact that they're in the UK and I'm in the US makes that especially delightful). I am impressed.

At first I was really happy with this mouse. I love how I could switch between hands easily and the precision wasn't too bad (compared to the Evoluent that I tried before but found to be to much of an adjustment and also not ambidextrous). The issue with the Penguin mouse became that they, especially the medium and up in sizes, are quite heavy and need to be dragged around in order to operate. This required dragging motion and heaviness of the mouse are the opposite of efficient/ergonomic and vastly slowed my productivity and fatigued my hands. Over time, I found myself dreading working on the computer because using the mouse felt so clunky and frustrating (though my wrist/arm pain was much less). With all that I just said above, I would have given this mouse 3 stars, but given that before 6 months of gentle use (all in my home office) was through, the scroll wheel started malfunctioning, I am giving it one star. I tested the mouse on 3 different operating systems/computers, and I still had the same issue and other (way cheaper) mice did not. When I scrolled on a page, the page would jump up and down, reversing directions, so I couldn't read articles or documents easily. This glitch made the mouse completely unusable. For the price tag, I expect a product to last much much much longer. I also want to note, I'm not someone that gives up on products easily. I bought third party apps, tried different systems, and used compressed air, but nothing resolved the scrolling problem. No drivers were to be found, and I am assuming it's a mechanical issue. I used this mouse (with immense frustration) for a few weeks, continuing to try troubleshooting, before tossing it in the give away bin and writing this review. In case anyone else is looking for an ambidextrous mouse option, I just got the trackball mouse (think it's 32.00) from Kensington, which is also ambidextrous (though not quite as intuitively ambidextrous as the Penguin). So far, I am much happier and more comfortable with it. The scrolling works and I can switch between hands without having to shuttle a heavy mouse around the desk after paying twice the price for an item that will soon break (Penguin mouse, I'm talking to you and shaking my head).

It is a great upright stick mouse for me being left-handed. I also love the option of easily switching to the right-hand use in case my left hand get tired, which is unlikely so far since this is a great ergonomic design. However, it is important to place the mouse at a lower level natural to your body to prevent any shoulder and arm pain.

Die Form ist gut und auch für kleine Hände geeignet. Leider lassen sich die Tasten so schwer drücken, dass es nach einiger Zeit auf die Fingerendgelenke von Zeige- und Mittelfinger geht. Auch der Daumen leidet, da viel Kraft notwendig ist, um zu klicken. Fazit: wer den ganzen Tag vor dem Rechner sitzt, verschiebt den Schmerz von unoergonomischen Mäusen mit dieser "ergonomischen" Maus von den Handgelenken auf die Fingergelenke. Schade, denn der Rest des Konzepts könnte überzeugen. Außerdem: stozler Preis!

Es perfecto para minimizar el riesgo de padecer epicondilitis o como actualmente se denomina " codo de ratón " . Es muy sensible con lo que no sufren los tendones. El ser ambiestro es un plus ya que te permite poder descansar la mano derecha ( si eres diestro ) y facilita utilizar la izquierda dada esa sensibilidad al tacto que lo distingue de otros ratones ergonómicos. . Yo me he decantado por la versión inalámbrica para facilitar su utilización con una u otra mano sin cables estorbando. Ya llevo varios meses utilizándolo y estoy encantada , he notado un gran descanso para mi lesión. ( tengo que añadir que yo utilizo el ratón el 95 % de mi jornada laboral ) . Por ultimo, su precio es más elevado que el otros muchos ratones ergonómicos ( yo he probado tres modelos de tres marcas distintas ) pero compensa gastar un poco más ya que como he dicho hay una gran diferencia respecto a los otros ratones que he probado .

I've been using this mouse since i was given one at work for my RSI Years ago. It's definitely better than a conventional mouse as it turns your hand sideways and alleviates some of the pressure from constant mouse use. It takes a little while to get used to it, but persevere as the benefits are excellent. Would recommend if you suffer from any RSI of the wrist, arm or upper back.
