Very Good, but a pinch slow!
Overall, I liked this computer, but there were a few cons...Cons~I expected this to be fast, but it is slower than a computer should be. Not to slow, but slow enough to get a bit annoying.~No CD drive! Most netbooks don't have one, but just so your warned! You can find some pretty inexpensive external CD drives for a netbook on amazon though.~Skype freezes a TON!Pros~Little notch in the back where you can hold the computer one handed while walking around.~Keyboard is not too much smaller than a regular keyboard~Light. Very very light!~Mouse works well.~Comes with skype.I like my computer very much, and I'm using it for pictures and for school so i can do all of my Home Work at school or in the car on the way home. :)UPDATE: My computer crashed, and my mom had gotten a memory update for me. When we sent my computer back, my mom put the memory upgrade card in the box. She talked on the phone for HOURS and finally they said that they would install the upgrade. When I got the computer back, it was still sloooooooow, but a bit faster. AND THEY DIDN'T INSTALL THE UPGRADE!!! My mom had talked on the phone for hours for nothing. They also took the memory update out of its package and took the instructions. We had to look it up on UTube on how to install it. So annoying! It still is painfully slow most of the time, but I like it anyway. I wouldn't really suggest it to anyone. If you were looking at it while it wasn't on, it would be the perfect computer, but when it's on, it's a dissapointment.

Great Netbook!
Every review that questions the speed of this netbook perplexes me. It does everything I want to to with normal speed. I use Firefox, Skype, Steam, iTunes, Pidgin, Thunderbird and all of them work perfectly and load up in a matter of seconds. I am dual booting Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Remix and even that work really well. The only hardware that didn't work right after install Ubuntu was the Wi-Fi adapter. I was able to find drivers and install that easily and I am new to Linux. On Ubuntu, I was able to get Skype, Pidgin, and Thunderbird installed in addition to what comes with Ubuntu (Firefox and others). On Windows 7, I am running Steam and on there I have been able to run games like Plants vs Zombies, Flight Control HD, Doom 1&2, Star Wars Jedi Knight series. It actually surprises me that this netbook can play Half Life 2 and Doom 3 at low settings pretty smoothly. If you are looking for a machine to play games made after 2005, you should not buy this machine, but if you are looking for something to be very portable this is a great machine. The power plug is a standard 3 prong power plug that is small enough to take up only one socket on a power strip. My only complaint with the keyboard is that the Caps Lock key does not have a light on it that indicates if Caps Lock is on or not, but Dell has a program install that tells on the monitor if Caps Lock is switched on or off. My biggest complaint with the track pad is that the left and right click buttons seem flimsy, but I haven't found anything online saying that anyone has had them break.Great netbook for portable web browsing and media use.

Windows Recovery Failure
I just got this netbook a couple weeks ago everything was working fine till one day i went on my netbook and found that my internet explorer was not responding, i attempted to restart the netbook where a windows recovery screen appeared saying "launch startup repair or start windows normally" both options once clicked brought me back to the same windows recovery screen, this is highly frustrating i really didnt expect to be having issues with this product so fast and i really regret purchasing this product. The convenience of having a netbook is long gone.

More Toy Than Serious Computing.
I got my Dell 10v 1018 a few days ago and upgraded the memory to 2GB(Crucial). It was difficult and scary to do even after watching a good Utube video on the subject. The creator of the video used a macro magnifier and was very proficient at what he was doing. Even after using a magnifying glass I accidentally stuck the power cable in backwards. Lucky everything still turned out good. Now for my review of the actual netbook.1) The wireless connection is fair not good. Even after the memory upgrade. Wireless is still in its early stages apparently. All my other connections are wired.2) There is a discoloured stain on the Touch Pad that won't come out.3) Windows Experience Index gives memory 4.0 but processor 2.3.4) There were no ear buds.5) Seems to heat up alot even after 1 hour of use.6) Except for web browsing and viewing streaming video(intermittent drops), plus some shopping or looking into an account(McAfee suite and Windows updating convenient), this is not a computer per se. More like a novelty toy.7) Windows Starter is fine for this netbook.8) Packaging was good but sloppy in places. Not typical Made in China.9) Life expectancy for said netbook is uncertain.(heating)10) Compared to 1990 netbook(KB), no comparisons.

Moderate
While the function of the netbook is exactly as expected, there is one detail which significantly reduces the quality of the product. In order to access the RAM, one must remove everything from the bottom portion of the netbook. That is, the keyboard, paneling, mouse-pad, and almost all SATA cords must be removed to simply upgrade RAM. This is dissimilar to previous versions of Dell netbooks, as they (and many other brands) have a an easy access tab to remove on the bottom. I purchased this netbook with the intention of upgrading the memory, but will not do so at the strong possibility that it may never reassemble correctly.Poor choice, Dell. For a company who used to focus almost exclusively on upgrades, you've really missed the mark on this netbook.

Dell Inspiron Mini Netbook
The netbook works well and I like it. However, it was advertised to have a 250G hard drive and came with only a 120G. I am not happy with this smaller drive but not sure how to remedy the situation.
