uni JETSTREAM PRIME Twist Mechanism Accessory Pack 0.5mm

My job requires me to often fill out forms or write things down. Over time, I have become particular about pens as I have to use one extensively. I prefer a fine-tip pen, 0.5 mm being ideal for my purposes. The Jetstream Prime Twist refill does come in medium and larger tips as well. This is a Parker style refill so it could be used in any pen that takes a Parker refill. This Jetstream refill made by Uni-Ball(Uni?) a brand manufactured by the Mitsubishi Pencil Co. Apparently, the MPC is not affiliated in any with the Mitsubishi automotive and heavy industries conglomerate we are all familiar with despite having the same logo. The Uni brand has a good reputation for quality writing instruments. This Jetstream ink is a low viscosity oil-based ink designed to compete with gel-based inks. It claims the crisp sharpness and fast drying of a gel ink but with the smoothness, waterproofness and longevity of an oil based ink. Jetstream ink is held in high regard by Jet Pens....and they'd know. Prior to this, my absolute favorite fine-tip Parker refill has been the Ohto Flash-Dry Gel 0.5mm. It's a pleasure to write with. The best. But.....they are hard to come by and expensive to boot at $5 per refill cartridge. So...I needed a more economic alternative. How did the Jetstream Prime Twist refill stack up? I am pleased to report, it's as good or better than my beloved Ohto Flash-Dry ink. No smudges, smooth, crisp lines. It's really quite good. I was very surprised that an oil-based ink could write as nice as this. I will definitely be buying this one in the future. You won't be disappointed if you give this one a try. Five stars Uni-Ball!

The Jetstream ink cartridge is an excellent replacement for any Parker G2 style pen that accepts refills. The 0.5mm is a true 0.5mm, producing thin, precise lines. The ink doesn't blob up and rarely, if at all, skips. It is also fairly water resistant as compared to other inks. Also, it doesn't feather like other types of inks. The only real complaint I have is that it is more expensive than a lot of of other inks. In my opinion though, it's worth it. Others may also find the color a bit less vibrant, which I do admit is true. However, I don't think it's an issue, but just something to note for others.

This refill fits all Parker Style G2 sizes. This is my FAVORITE fine-tip ink. Writes beautifully, and makes extremely even and thin lines. Great for fine details and even cross hatching. Good dark color. See attached photo. This refill made the thinner black lines (the blue lines is a different brand if y'all interested). The top thick lines with bleed off is a totally different pen refill, so don't worry. I love thin extra fine lines, especially because I like to sketch alot. So far, I have not seen a SINGLE example of bleed off or pooling of ink from this. After doing research, nearly everyone suggests this pen refill for Parker style G2. I would HIGHLY recommend this for people who either like thin lines while writing, or doing little pen sketches in a notebook. Great pen refill and in my opinion well worth the price. Will buy this whenever my ink runs out.

It's surprisingly hard to find a Parker G2 style refill that writes finely and smoothly. If it's smooth, it's going to be 1.0mm. If it's thinner, it takes more effort to write and is often scratchy in feedback. And I don't like rollerballs; it's the same story, except now ink bleeds through due to lower-viscosity water-based ink. Jetstream is one of my all-time favorite pens to write with. So I was stoked to find these on sale here, although they were admittedly quite expensive for what they are; I doubt they'll last as log as your Quink refills, either. So how does it write? In a word, fantastic. It writes comparably to your regular Jetstream pens, but in a Parker Jotter that I've put this refill in, it now feels more substantial, and the plasticky rattle that sometimes accompanies the pen is gone. I haven't written extensively with the refill yet, so I'll comment on the longevity later. At $5/refill, it's definitely expensive, but it's a niche product that indeed does its job well. I just hope it writes longer than your regular Jetstream refills.

This parker-style refill is really different than others. It's got a super fine ball point tip that is a little bit like writing with a pin. I'd describe it as a little bit scratchy. Yet, it has a lot of flow and very saturated black ink. That combination of smooth and scratchy is unlike any other pen I've written with. I like fine point pens as they clarify my writing. This also has ink which they say is a hybrid of gel and normal ball point which is exactly how it feels. I'm not a big fan of gel pens as they're too slippery for me -- they don't have a feeling of contact with the paper that I like. This is slightly like that but not so much that it annoys me. Very reliable -- does not skip.

These cartridges are TOTALLY awesome! Most pen cartridges require you to draw a few lines to get the ink flowing, or have the ink flowing so freely that the letters are splotchy and not crisp. I searched and searched and finally found these - my search is now over! These let the ink flow from the first instant and never get too much ink on the page. Be sire to get the ones made in Japan! My theory is that people writing in Japanese characters need to make very clear lines, so they developed these pens. Whatever the reason, these just WORK! Every time, all the time.

Excellent substitute for Parker refill. Very sharp clean line (0.5 mm). A great brand for pen refills.

First impression review so take with grain of salt (I will return to edit if it suddenly changes lol) - Very fine, clean and very nice flow. No scratching on page, no blotting, no skipping, Very nice refills. IMO not as nice to write with that the official space pen refills are(at least the basic colors) but very nice, maybe TOO easy to write(heavy hand so sometimes end up with 'drag marks' but that is expected with gel type free flow pens.) Quite happy with it (So far)

After years of searching, easily the best writing experience ever.

a lovely fine line with these refills. Just what I was looking for. Wish they came in more colours than just black.
