3/4" MIP Brass Ball Valve Hose Bibb w/ Extra Large Handle and Extended Body

This valve was purchased to replace an old out door water spigot that is at least 40 years old. The old spigot was dripping whether open or closed. The most difficult part of the installation was being able to remove the old spigot. A few wraps of teflon tape and screwing in the new valve was an easy install. To my delight there was no leaking at all. I like the quality of the ball valve. One-half turn is fully open. Another half turn is fully shut. The valve operates smoothly. The red valve cover gives a sharp look. Quality is always appreciated and not easy to find.

The problem I have with conventional hose bib valves is that the washer dries out and gets very hard over time, making them leak. This is a ball valve hose bib, and it doesn't use a washer. 1/4 turn is all it takes. The big handle is easy to turn. So if you have trouble gripping the old style round hose bib handle, or if you hate dripping hose bibs, you will like this. The drawback is that is more difficult to control the amount of water coming out of the hose. Turn the handle just a little, and the amount of water coming out of the hose changes a lot.

This valve is solid and well made. The extended length made it easy to solder.

These were used on my outside garden faucets. They work great. Easy to turn on and off.

So much better than the hose bibs you get in track housing. Clean shutoff every time, great flow control. No leaks. I'll update this as they age. Highly recommended at the moment.
