Amazon Essentials Men's Packable Lightweight Water-Resistant Puffer Jacket (Available in Big & Tall)

Wanted a new puffy jacket for hiking & backpacking & other outdoor activities, but did not want to invest a great amount of money into it. Needed to be comfortable and fit nicely over a fleece if cold and under my rain jacket if wet. I also wanted it to be packable so I could save space in my backpack/daypack should I need to shed a layer. This jacket met all of those criteria! Very comfortable. Just my size (I have tried a few other brands on and a medium was either too tight or way too big, and moving up/down a size did not really help me) - I am 5'7" / 165 lbs. I really appreciate the 2 inner pockets, which are a great size for headlamps, gloves, a flask, or lots of other similarly sized items one takes outdoors. Sleeves fit nicely over gloves to keep it mostly 'sealed' but also breathable. Very warm. Was out at a scout camp in 17*F weather and had this over a long sleeve T shirt and a scout shirt. Was plenty warm on my body with minimal movement at times, but not overheating. Easy to move in. Really enjoyed the outing because of the comfort. My son asked for one of these, so I may purchase another. Recommend this jacket!

Ordered this for a trip to Europe. Packed small so I could easily fit in my daypack and was vital for January days. Definitely recommended, it was a life saver especially considering the price. Quality was better than expected for the price; it’s light and warm enough for mid 30’s weather. Great for flying or travel.

This puffer jacket is pretty good. It keeps me warm and fits nicely and the zipper works great. Nice deep pockets, too. The only issues I have are that the material is noisy and makes all kinds of swishing sounds when the sleeves brush the other parts of the jacket as you are walking or moving around, and the other issue is that the zipper front is not very flexible for when you are bending over. It protrudes out in front of you and obstructs your lower field of vision. I've gotten into the habit of pressing on my belly area when I'm bending over to pick up something and I've got the jacket on, so that I can see where the object is and also so the jacket doesn't contact my chin/face which it sometimes does, too. If I have to squat to do something, the front of the jacket gets pushed upwards and becomes uncomfortable and in the way, so pressing down on the belly area of the jacket helps, but it's a little annoying to have to do that. I've had other puffer jackets that did not do this and I think it is due to lack of flexibility in the zipper front area and also the bottom hem/edge (not sure what to call it) which is not elastic or stretchy in any way. There's no give. So, if you plan on mainly wearing this jacket while you'll be walking around or standing, it will be great. But not so great for working (bending, squatting, reaching overhead) or sitting, due to lack of flexibility. This jacket would also not be good for any kind of activity that requires silence due to the noisiness of the fabric. Such as hiking and listening to hear if any wild animals are around you. All you will hear is the jacket as you are hiking when there could be a wild animal nearby that you would want to know about. I'm a woman, 5'4", 130 lbs and the medium fits me well (aside from the flexibility problems). I actually bought two of them in different colors because they are nice & warm and a decent price and they look nice on me.

This jacket has been a pleasant surprise because of how light and comfortable it is. It’s perfect for cool weather, keeping you warm without feeling heavy or bulky. The materials feel high-quality, and the stitching is neat. What I liked the most: Very lightweight, great for daily wear or travel. Provides enough warmth without overheating. Feels durable and well-made. What could be improved: The design is a bit boxy; I would prefer a slightly more fitted or shaped cut. Overall, it’s a practical, comfortable, and good-quality jacket. A solid choice if you’re looking for something light and versatile for everyday use.

Nice jacket. Warm, comfortable and looks great. I purchased both the medium and large because I wasn’t sure about the sizing. I usually wear large but the medium fit perfectly with room for a fleece vest.

It’s exactly as described. Lightweight, packable jacket. Comes with compression sack. Where I live it’s common for the temperature to be below freezing most of the winter and I use this coat the entire winter. I wouldn’t sit outside with it being that cold but as long as you’re active you’ll be warm. It holds your body heat really well when you’re active. It sheds water and snow pretty good and blocks a lot of wind. The turtle neck/neck warmer is a really nice feature. The pockets are nice and roomy. Despite it being a cheaper alternative to more expensive versions/brands of similar coats it’s actually held up pretty good so far. The color was spot on to the example provided.

I'm a big fan of the Amazon Essentials puffer vests. They have been very handy the past couple winters here in MI. This is basically the same thing, only with insulated sleeves. Decent length and fit for the price. A quality full length front zipper, two good sized inner pockets, two good sized outside slash pockets with zippers, and a storage pouch. I think someone said there wasn't a hanging loop, but mine even has that. Just like the vests, this will be a versatile piece for my winter gear arsenal. :)

I've purchased two of these, one for my wife and one for me. Hers was great. Mine smelled like a petroleum product and I had a lot of trouble getting the smell out it. (I left it in a container with baking soda for about 3 weeks). Other than that, it's a great value.
