LEM-1DLS Single-Door Access Sentry System Starter Kit with One Master Intercom

Product worked great, over a distance of 300 feet using unshielded 18 ga cable. Plenty of volume, easy install, good documentation, and great product support staff in the USA who answered a question about operation—the master station is push to talk once a conversation is started with the remote. Other imported video door phones failed miserably to perform in the audio function (one or the other stations could not be heard.). Highly recommend this product for long distance communication to remote gates. Hard wired, not wireless.

Several years ago I installed a battery-powered intercom not unlike the old RadioShack two-station intercom (due to familiarity in my parent's home). The unit eventually failed, but the Belden 8451 shielded two-conductor wire was still present and I installed this Aiphone unit. To say I should have done this the first time is an understatement. This is a superior unit in every way. Robust construction, excellent sound quality and sensitivity - testing revealed the remote station could clearly hear me from 30 feet away. Harsh call tone cuts thru audio clutter and has an internal volume switch. You will not be disappointed with the Aiphone product. You will need to supply your own 2-conductor power wiring for the AC transformer in the kit, as well as shielded 2-conductor station wire for communications. The master unit also has a remote-door-open switch that can be used with Aiphone strike plates or others with an isolation relay and power supply, but my application left this unused and untested. Installation instructions not for electrical newbies, but can be accomplished by most handypersons with some experience. Do it right the first time - if you need a great wired (up to 2300 feet with 16 gauge shielded) intercom, look no further.

Unit was easy to install and works fine. Needed a second unit for another location. Shielded wire is recommended to cut down on interference from and 110v lines nearby.

I’ve been buying used AiPhone parts from eBay and they’ve been only lasting a couple years. When the last one failed I decided to buy a brand new system hoping that would prolong its longevity. I’ve tried a couple different systems thru the years and these AiPhone systems have the clearest sound. So even with the issues I’ve had with my previous purchases of used systems I’m going back to AiPhone with hopes for the best.

Works as advertised. Installation was straightforward and no problems were encountered. I used it with an existing door release mechanism and power source, using the wiring guide that came with the unit.

The product is exactly what we needed for the shop. Used shielded wire as mentioned by a previous reviewer. However, opening the system to hook it up is a trick. I had to go to youtube to find out how to do. Otherwise I would have probably caused the cover to crack. Upper part opens fine but lower part you have to squeeze on both sides to lift it off. I think the only thing about the unit I haven't figured out is how turn up the outside box to hear it better inside.
