I love it

I've ordered this cd 5 times so I can play it in all the rooms of my Dog Boarding kennel at Christmas time. Johnny Mathis voice is soothing and great for stress. Music plays 24/7 so these are heard often among other Mathis albums. I also have one in my car. It's a terrific collection of holiday songs.

This album gets five stars from me because it's Johnny Mathis, it's Christmas (or winter) music, and every song is beautifully sung. However, be aware that this is not a collection of new recordings - these are all songs from previous Mathis Christmas collections. Some songs may have been remastered but nothing here was recorded specifically for inclusion on this CD. If you have many of the Mathis Christmas CD's then it is highly likely that you already own all of these songs. That said, if you're a new fan of the great Johnny Mathis and don't own all the previous releases this would be a wonderful place to start. I wish that Columbia/Legacy would release an all inclusive multi disc set containing all of Johnny's Christmas recordings (I'd suggest this as a project for Time/Life but they'd price it too high for the regular guy to afford). I don't believe that any artist has ever released more Christmas themed albums than Mathis and finally getting them all together in one collection would seem so obvious (especially since Columbia seems to repackage everything anyway). You can usually pick up this album new (or a gently used copy) at considerable savings so you can reward you ears without breaking the budget.

When your wife says "I want to hear some Johnny Mathis music this Christmas," there's very little doubt as to what action to take.Then the confusion begins. I went on line and there were tons of choices. I lucked out., got this one and this is pure pleasure. It's not old Johnny or beginning Johnny. It's pure Johnny. Each song is a delight. A quality recording that is a cross section of this man's remarkable talent.In 1962 Mr. Mathis performed at the Seattle World's Fair. I was a dancer there. That's when I became a fan. He's about as perfect a performer as you can find.Ron Walkerp.s. My wife was a transportation coordinator back when Mathis played Resorts International in Atlantic City. She met him, and drove him to a golf date, and took the wrong turn and got lost. He was gracious and forgiving and he did have his round of golf.

Oh, Johnny! This album is melting my heart and -- it's just soooo gorgeous! Johnny's voice is like the finest liqueur, getting better with every passing year. No one can set the Christmas atmosphere vocally the way he does! His voice caresses the ear like a velvet scarf, wrapping you in comfort and surrounding you with its warm richness. And oh! Johnny Mathis has an amazing voice, and this Christmas cd is absolutely wonderful. I recieved it today, and my Mom and I listened to it. She loves his music also. I also have another different one of his Christmas cd's, so I'm glad that I purchased this one also. It has some different songs that aren't on my other one of his. I love both of his Christmas cds that I have, and am happy to have a variety of his Christmas music. I'm very happy with my purchase. ❤😊
