This is very thick!
I always wondered what was so heavy about silverware that kids needed their own special utentils; THEN, I got THIS silverware. Each piece is SOOOOOOO thick that I ask myself everytime I look at it: why is this silverware so thick? Anyway, I enjoy eating off my thick silverware.I am beyond upset that for this price you only get 5 pieces. I am now in love with them and was going to order more, but I am not going to pay $60.00 for 5 pieces of silverware. They need to lower the price.Update 02/19/2018 - This is my favorite silverware. I have tried to purchased equivalents and been disappointed. I finally decided to order 2 more sets for a whopping $120.00 and the seller sends me pewter. I just tried again and hope I get the right set. This is beautiful and overpriced.

Continental size flatware, beautiful design and weight.
I have always preferred continental size flatware. I've been searching for a new set over the last year, this set is better than I could have ever imagined finding in the U.S. I'm extremely pleased.

Superb stainless setting from Italy
Like most U.S. Amazon customers, I was not familiar with Mepra until I got my hands on two sets of their flatware. I reviewed the other Mepra Linea Oro Nero 5 Piece Place Setting, Gunmetal Black and so I am comparing this set to that one as well as to my other utensils. My everyday silverware drawer contains an assortment of utensils, about five different patterns. Except for one set, or remains thereof, I don't remember how they all ended up living in my kitchen, but there they are, and for many years we've been using, washing, and using again. Maybe, we said, it's time for us to get a matched set of everyday utensils. The Raffaello looked just about perfect, and the price point was right too.To me, they look much better in the photo, although they are exceptionally mirrorlike. They aren't particularly heavy, although hefty enough for normal use. Expensive for a stainless set. They're about half the cost of the other set I reviewed, but I like that set about 10x as much as this one.Amazon is carrying a wide range of Mepra utensils and I am intrigued enough to want to find out more. The designs are great, not sure they always merit the prices.

Very nice design, although I prefer Mepra Brescia (which is much cheaper!)
This is a very nice mid-range single place setting of flatware. The stainless steel is 18/10 and in the photo shows a mirror finish. The five pieces I received were shiny, but do not have a mirror finish. If you're familiar with the mirror-like finish on the Fortessa Bistro 18/10 flatware, you will see that these don't have nearly the same shine. On the other hand, I like the handle shape of these Raffaello better. But, ironically, I like Mepra's Brescia design better still and it's only about a third the price. You might say that the Brescia and Raffaello have very similar shapes with the single difference that the Raffaello has a bit more embellishment. Well, that's what I thought until I received the Raffaello set and saw for myself that in stamping the embellishments onto the handles, some of the graceful curves have been subdued. Not lost, but changed. The necks of each of the utensils is slightly thicker on the Raffaello and that, to me, makes them look just a bit less gracefully shaped. Someone else might actually prefer the thicker necks. Overall, these are lovely, well-made spoons and forks and a decent, although extremely standard, knife. If you like the way they look in the photo and believe you would also like them if the shine were dialed back, they likely are a good choice. Mepra is an excellent Italian maker of these and similar housewares.

Very nice, most compatible pattern I have seen to my sterling
I inherited 5 place settings of sterling flatware. It's an odd number and rarely the right count. This pattern of stainless matches it as closely as any I have seen. It is a heavy weight high sheen stainless in a traditional pattern with some detail and scroll work on the bottom. It has an elegant look to it that would make it hard to notice amongst sterling settings. Like all Mepra flatware it is beautifully milled and balanced. It feels great in the hand. I prefer the modern designs but as a companion to my sterling, this will fit right in.

Elegant and Top Quality
This is a very elegant and understated style of flatware. It has a traditional appearance and will go with just about any style of dishes. It can go with the fine China or the everyday dishes. The quality is second to none and they are heavy duty and made to last. I think the price is a little steep for a place setting but if one is not concerned about that, these are an excellent choice. This flatware will not bend when you scoop ice cream and doesn't lose its luster. Very nice.

Poor Packaging. Quality Stainless Steel
I do not know much about fancy silverware but these stainless steel pieces feel like quality material. I've never polished silverware before but supposedly these do not need constant polishing. They feel hefty in the hand, a sign of quality I assume.I did take off one star because it came in a simple white box. Nothing fancy or even a decent quality box. It came all bundled in a big plastic sealed bag. I am not sure if this is what the manufacturer packaging is or Amazon's, but for this price, I at least expected fancy packaging and maybe a pamphlet or some words on the box to describe the product.
