Best Tent in Solar System
Let's be real. If you're here it's because: 1) you're curious how a tent can cost $1,000 or 2) you have been researching Hilleberg tents but you don't know which one you wantLet me help if you fall into the #1 category. I have been saving for my Hilleberg for years. I had two tents, one of which was a $300 tent that was destroyed during a hail storm. Our $400 tent barely made it through but we were able to use it to keep most of our stuff dry, at least. The storm ruined our trip though. Destroyed a lot of my equipment and made me look into stronger tents. That's how I found Hilleberg in the first place. I think these tents are worth $1,000 simply because they can survive pretty much any storm.#2's. Not sure which 2 person Hilleberg tent to purchase? Get this one. It's their strongest tent and one person can set it up in just a few minutes. It's a little larger than their other 2 person tents when packed up due to the extra poles but I was still able to fit it into my backpack. My only problem with this tent is its so good I immediately started a fund to buy another after using it. That is really the only negative. You wont want to sleep in any other tent after you get this thing.

Hillebergs are the way to go!
After many years of camping in less expensive, used inferior tents. I decided to buy a new one. The other tents I slept in had condensation problems, was constructed of weaker fabric or had poor ventilation. Since I was purchasing my first new tent I wanted all the options- an all weather shelter that I can enjoy all year around. I researched tents on the web and I chose Hilleberg because of it design.- the inner tent with the poles in the fly is ingenious! It is easy to set up and take down. The Tarra was chosen because of its strength. I was amazed at the roominess of the tent and the ample storage space that the vestibules provide. It is easy to ventilate and you can choose to take the inner tent down in a rainstorm pack it seperately and then take down the poles and the fly so that you have a dry tent to at your next destination. You can not do that with any other tent design.I highly recomend the Hilleberg Tarra and Hilleberg period for lower price point options. Good luck and Happy Camping!

Apart from the weight, this tent has no cons. You get what you pay for !
Love this tent - expectations were high and it didn't disappoint. I will only say if you're on the taller side (more than 6 ft) just double check the internal dimensions on the inner tent. Materials are superb in every way. I have used the tent once in very heavy rain with no issues at all. I did not find the tent was insulating with heat at all - not that you would expect it to be, but just something for newbies maybe thinking about this tent. Don't think it keeps you warm. Get an appropriate sleeping bag with the right EN13537 temp rating for the conditions. I found deploying and packing up easy enough. It does have a slight learning curve when setting up for the first time. After one or twice it's easy. Make sure you get the footprint. I think it's worth the extra money to protect your very expensive tent and help it last a lifetime.
