Solid Gold Wholesome Selects Wet Cat Food - Chicken Liver Chunks - Canned Cat Food, 24 Pack

So I have 4 indoor kitties. They had been on prescription food which was $$$$ and they ate it sometimes. So I was checking this food out and it was comparable but had more natural ingredients. My kitties LOVE this food! On top of that, they are more healthy. Their coats are so shiny and soft, and they haven’t been throwing up fur balls, which had been a common occurrence especially since two of my cats have long fur. As far as the smell of the food, it’s cat food so, I mean, it doesn’t smell great but, again, it’s cat food. On a side note, I also purchased the dry kibble, which comes in several flavors. I assumed I would need to mix it in with their old food to get them used to it. They actually pick it out and eat it, then they leave the old food behind.

We are always looking for deals with Solid Gold wet food. We have found other brands we like, but we always go back to Solid Gold. We love the many options and quality of the food. Most importantly, our cats love it too.

We have been using this cat food for years and our kitties love it. However, recently prices have gone up and quality has dropped. Our last order arrived with discolored tape, and I noticed that the box sounded like it was filled with dirt when it was shaken. Upon opening it I was horrified to find it filled with dead bugs and dry larva. Contacted Amazon for a full refund and will be researching a new pate option.

Great ingredients! My cat loves this and there are none of the nasty ingredients I avoid like carrageenan and filler grains and byproducts. It's a bit on the pricy side so I wait for manufacturer sales and stock up for a few months.

My review is mostly for the shipping and how the food arrives. You can see from the photos that many cans arrive dented, which means you can’t feed them to your cat. This happens with I would estimate 80% of my orders. Once I fed a very lightly dented can to my cat thinking it would be ok since the dent was on the bottom and the seal would be fine. NOPE! She was horribly sick the next day. After lots of money and many tests, our veterinarian said it was basically food poisoning from bacteria getting into the dented can. Any dented can should always be thrown out because the dent compromises the seal. Most recently, in a pack of 12 cans I had to throw out 8. I have canceled our subscription and gotten a refund on that order. The food is good. My cat loves it (it is not a gravy and we have to add water to it). Now ordering from Petco.

My cats love this and the chicken duck flavor. They also love the turkey one. The first can I opened went in the trash and I was ready to request a refund but decided to give it one more try. Success! This brand and the 3 poultry flavors are hands down their favorites. They eat every bite. It looks like a pate until you break it up with a spoon or fork. It also seems to agree well with my guys and the range in age from 6 months to 15 years. I highly recommend.

UPDATE: WITHIN A WEEK AFTER THE REVIEW POSTED, the supplier contacted me to try to gain my satisfaction. I appreciate their attempt to satisfy the customer. In this case, I just assume my cats are too finicky for this style of food and will continue mixing it with other food until it has been consumed. ---- It seems to look and smell OK to me, but neither of my cats will eat it. I can mix it with other food to get one cat to eat it, but the other cat can apparently detect it in the mix and will not eat it.

My cats dont really like this flavor, they wont finish everytime.
